We are all longing to be able to live a festival, but the reality of social distancing prevents us. After 100 days of complying with the new rules imposed by governments, the organizers of Federal Music Festival, on Brazil’s capital, Brasília, imported a great idea to be able to please fans thirsty for a party. On July 25, the Federal Music Drive-In Edition will take place in the national stadium of Brasília, becoming the first Drive-In electronic music festival of Brazil.
“We want to bring a unique experience to people, a moment of joy in the midst of the chaos of the pandemic. We created this festival with a very small profit margin and high costs, but trying to bring something really unique and impactful to everyone’s memory”, says Raul Mendes, one of the organizers.
Federal Music is today the largest electronic music festival in the Midwest Brazil, in addition to being one of the pioneers in the country with more than 20 years of history. To show his avant-garde position and also adjusting to the new reality, they will host the first drive-in electronic music party around there. The capacity will be for 400 cars and the headliner will be Gabe, one of the Brazilian sensations at the moment. The complete line-up has Pirate Snake, Jhon K, Aquila, 3VO, Scardisco, The Klass, and GAI4.
“People can expect a fun day with maximum security and social isolation. We will run an extensive campaign of conscious consumption of alcoholic beverages, ‘If you drive, you don’t drink’, encouraging the choice of ‘friends driver’, who will be able to consume 0% alcohol beer. In addition, we will have raffles for gifts and tickets for the main edition”, adds Raul.
Over the past 4 months, Federal Music has sought ways to continue generating entertainment for the public, in the form of live streams, exclusive sets, and interviews. But that feeling of wanting ‘something more’ was never gone. The Federal Music Drive-In Edition will feature 10 hours of music in a completely safe format on a drive-in system, each person in its car. A unique project to bring real music to electronic music fans, and all in accordance with the standards of protection and hygiene recommended by the authorities.
