JAD3D Drops ‘WAKE UP’ Featuring Demitri Medina!

JAD3D has just released a brand new single, “WAKE UP” featuring Demitri Medina. In this track, JAD3D explores a diverse variety of genres and styles. These include grime, bassline, garage, dubstep, and future bass, among many others. This is a truly contemporary song that refuses to be pigeon-holed. Instead of focusing on one genre, the artists are focused on the meaning, lyrics, and overall vibe of the track. They want to connect with the listener, not worry about which genre they fall in.

This is the way that a lot of contemporary music is going, and it’s refreshing to hear artists and producers that aren’t bound by a set of strict rules. It’s more freeing and creative, and it’s also much more captivating to listen to.  The lyrical composition in “WAKE UP” is hard-hitting and in-your-face. There is a chilling repetition of “wake-up” which has a visceral impact on the listener. Some of the most powerful and memorable lyrics are “I feel nothing / when I’m sleeping” and “shut the door before it’s too late / there’s a poison in your veins”.

There are so many different ways to interpret the lyrics. At times, the dark and introspective feel of the composition feels like they are talking to a drug addict who is knocking on death’s door. Yet, it also can be perceived as inspiration for someone to stop living life by the sidelines and finally get out there and take risks. The lyrics are empowering and uplifting, and the urgent energy to the mix really gets your heart pumping.

This song would be perfect for a difficult workout or even just a drive down the highway. It is packed full of energy that immediately lifts your mood and inspires you to keep going.  The vocal performance is passionate and freely expressive, which perfectly captures the essence of the lyrics. The vocals recall the likes Bruce Springsteen, Eddie Vedder, and John Mellencamp. Although the singer isn’t in the same genre as these artists, he has the same expressive quality and emotional voice. The soundscape in “WAKE UP” is multi-layered and immersive, with industrial style electronic sounds that are heavy and punchy. The production is reminiscent of legendary producers such as Skrillex, Aphex Twin, and David Guetta. If you enjoy the likes of these artist’s then you’ll definitely love JAD3D’s new release!
