Martin Solveig has recently taken to Twitter to apologize for the backlash he has received from fans of EDM and Football/Soccer when he asked the first ever winner of the Women’s Ballon d’Or Ada Hegerberg if she knew how to twerk. The Ballon d’Or is an award given to the world’s best soccer player which this year they have given to very first female the award.
In an exchange between Ada and Martin, Martin asked if she “knew how to twerk”, which Ada replied with a very stern “no”.
After multiple interviews and posts it seems that Ada did not take any offence to the joke saying she “didn’t consider it sexual harassment”. But that does not stop Martin from receiving some backlash online, to which he responded by posting the below tweets:
Sincere apologies to the one I may have offended. My point was : I don’t invite women to twerk but dance on a Sinatra song. Watch the full sequence People who have followed me for 20 years know how respectful I am especially with women pic.twitter.com/pnZX8qvl4R

I explained to @AdaStolsmo the buzz and she told me she understood it was a joke. Nevertheless my apologies to anyone who may have been offended. Most importantly congratulations to Ada pic.twitter.com/DATdg0TfQk

It seems that any problems between the two have been squashed, so Martin may no deserve to continue getting the hate online.
