Released 10 Years Ago: deadmau5 – The Veldt

On the 8th of May, 2012, deadmau5 released one of his most popular singles, ‘The Veldt’, together with Chris James. A single that showcases the elegant and beautiful progressive house style that we’ve come to love from the Canadian, ‘The Veldt’ has gained over 100 million online streams since its release. Not only that, but the single peaked at #6 on the Billboard US Hot Dance/Electronic Songs and is still a main part of his most recent sets.

Canadian electronic music producer and Mau5trap label head deadmau5 has been one of the most prominent fixtures in the electronic dance scene during the early and late 2010s, instantly recognizable with his signature oversized mouse helmet. Debuting in the late 2000s, he made his first international statement with his 2009 album ‘For Lack of a Better Name’. From there, he remained a top ten fixture on the US and Canadian dance charts, going platinum in 2010 with his album ‘4×4=12’  and topping the charts three times in a row with his albums ‘Album Title Goes Here’‘While (1<2)’, and ‘W:/2016ALBUM/’. Known for his live sets and highly produced stage set-ups, he is also an avid video gamer, contributing to soundtracks for Grand Theft AutoNeed for Speed, and more.
