The only time, under their official name as a trifecta, that Swedish House Mafia got together to create a single with other artists did not disappoint. The Swedish supergroup came together with hard-hitting electro duo Knife Party for an anthem that has stood the test of time. The single, which was released on the 16th of December, 2011, has proved to still be a killer production, being one of the high points of Swedish House Mafia‘s comeback in 2018.
Comprised of Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Steve Angelo, Swedish House Mafia is undoubtedly one of the most iconic dance acts of the early 2010s. Formed in 2008 and split up in 2013, the group released more than a handful of legendary dance anthems, among them ‘Don’t You Worry Child’, ‘Save The World’, ‘One (Your Name)’ and of course, ‘Miami 2 Ibiza’ featuring UK rapper Tinie Tempah.
Known for their eclectic live sets and even crazier production style, Gareth McGrillen and Rob Swire, better know as Knife Party, have dominated our sound systems for years. Knife Party originally started as a side project but quickly emerged as one of the brightest acts in the dance music scene. In the early 2010s, the pair made an early splash with the multi-platinum ‘Antidote’, a collaboration with Swedish House Mafia. They then went on to release a handful of EPs that charted across the globe, issuing their official debut full-length, ‘Abandon Ship’, in 2014.
