Released 8 Years Ago: Bassjackers – Crackin (Martin Garrix Edit)

Dutch House duo Bassjackers buzzing 2013 tune ‘Crackin’ had been given a brand new twist by then-EDM wunderkind Martin Garrix. Bassjackers‘ original theme remained but the drops were now even more berserk than before thanks to this collaboration. What followed is an ominous and brooding electro hook with a HUGE kick and snarling synths. The list of supporting DJs for this edit goes on and on with names such as Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, Tiësto, Afrojack, W&W, Showtek, and more wildly enthusiastic about Garrix‘ edit. The track was originally a free giveaway by Bassjackers on Facebook back in June 2013 and was picked up by many of the big names then, but then got a second run at fame thanks to Garrix.

DJ, Marlon Flohr, and producer, Ralph van Hilst, who together form Bassjackers, are perfectly in sync as a duo. Their opposing personalities – Marlon being the wild one rocking each and every stage they play and Ralph the cooler and collective preferring to shine behind the scene on the producer seat, are a perfect combination for this unique one DJ-one producer collaboration.

Martin Garrix has risen to global stardom in pop as well as electronic circles – and yet he’s far from being done. Dance music’s freshest talent has headlined festivals around the globe, founded a label and mentored other artists and won the #1 spot in DJ Mag’s Top 100 three times in a row. His passion, ambition, drive, and maturity remain unmatched in the world. With his label STMPD RCRDS now firmly established, Garrix has free range to do exactly that which he loves most: making music.
