Shogun Releases Super Mario Bros Rework As Charity Effort To Aid COVID-19 Frontline Workers!

Trance luminary and 4-time DJ Mag Top 100 contender Shogun steps up to aid frontline workers with an energetic spin on the classic Super Mario Bros. theme song. The remix is available to download exclusively via Bandcamp for $1. All proceeds will be donated to the CDC Foundation to help combat COVID-19 and frontline workers.

Stuck at home, Shogun has used his confinement to combine two of his greatest passions: video games and music.  The track arrives merely a month after the release of a stunning vocal record, ‘Time For Us’, which saw his return to Amsterdam based trance label, Serendipity Muzik. Adding a big room twist to the iconic video game jingle, the Asian American DJ and producer hopes to provide a dose of positivity and nostalgia to the dance music community.

On the motivation behind creating the track, Shogun elaborates: “During this pandemic, I’ve been spending all of my time working on music and playing video games. After producing countless tracks, I felt the impulse to do something different, something fun, something outside of my flagship trance sound, and most importantly a production that would bring some happiness and nostalgia to listeners amid this crisis. The Super Mario Bros theme song is probably the most well-known video game tune in the world, and I wanted to add a big festival spin on it. I hope it puts a smile on people’s faces and brings some happiness to their day during these tough times! Also, it’s important to give back to the frontline workers that continuously help keep the world a safer place for us. Please check out the CDC foundation, and if you are able, donate what you can!”
