6 Tracks You Won’t Believe Were Released 6 Years Ago!

Avicii – For A Better Day
After taking the world by storm with hit singles ‘Levels’, ‘Wake Me Up’, ‘Hey Brother’, and tons more, 2015 was a monumental year for the Swedish artist Avicii as he would release his second studio album ‘Stories’. Included in this album was the fantastic single ‘For A Better Day’. With that iconic signature Avicii sound, ‘For A Better Day’ would go on to dominate the radio waves across the globe and has gained over 300 million streams since its release. This single was released on the 28th of August.

Tiësto & The Chainsmokers – Split (Only U)
Tiesto proved once more that he was on a roll in August of 2015, working with The Chainsmokers for a tune that got every crowd in a frenzy. Following on from hit single ‘Secrets’ alongside KSHMR, Tiesto and The Chainsmokers cooked up a true anthem with ‘Split (Only U)’. As soon as this track kicks into gear, the breakdown turns trap. Things really get going then, with vocals and a heavy bass drop doing the rest of the job. This collab was released on the 31st of August.

Axwell Λ Ingrosso – Sun Is Shining (W&W Remix)
After the original track went on to dominate the dance music world, big room mainstays W&W took their attention away from original tracks to appear on remix duty for Axwell Λ Ingrosso‘s massive hit ‘Sun Is Shining’. Doing what they do best and delivering gold, W&W took this progressive anthem and turned the heat up to boiling point as they added reverberating synths and a monstrous drop that exploded onto the mainstage like madness. This remix was released on the 28th of August.

KSHMR and BASSJACKERS ft SIRAH – Memories
An amazing collab between KSHMR and Bassjackers right here, as they presented the beautifully melodic ‘Memories’. As the chords sway you away, the electro drop and fetching vocals by Sirah do their part to blow the dancefloor to bits. Making this track work on multiple levels, body and mind taken on a trip into the world of a couple of mastermind producers. This track was released on the 31st of August.

W&W and MOTi – Spack Jarrow
Huge collab here between Dutch duo W&W and MOTi, who decided to not simply go big but deliver one of the catchiest electro tunes of the moment. Immense kicks get fused here with some amazing synth work, reminiscing the legendary pirate adventures of ‘Spack Jarrow’. This single came hot on the heels of ‘The One’, ‘Bowser’, and ‘Rave After Rave’, proving once again that anything W&W touches turns to gold. This collab was released on the 24th of August.

Domeno & Michael Sparks – Locked & Loaded (Hardwell Edit)
After the undeniable success of Domeno’s collaboration with Bynon and Alice Berg on ‘Golden Hearts’ earlier in the year, he returned with another titanic summer house anthem. ‘Locked and Loaded (Hardwell Edit)’ brings together another triad of incredible talent with Domeno, Michael Sparks, and then-#1 DJ on the planet Hardwell, all combining to craft this potent slice of fiery electro house. ‘Locked and Loaded’ was undoubtedly the track on everyone’s lips after the astonishing reception it received during Hardwell’s Tomorrowland 2015 set. Building from a pulsating introduction, before leaping into a colossal drop and mutating into a jittery, thumping, dance floor filler, the track is an eclectic mix of styles and textures, seamlessly transitioning between booming, mountainous bass and an ethereal, melodic middle section. This edit was released on the 17th of August.
