David Guetta Voted #1 DJ In The World As DJ Mag Top 100 Results Announced!
David Guetta has been crowned as The World’s No.1 DJ, after winning DJ Mag‘s annual Top 100 DJs poll for the second time – almost a decade after he first took the No.1 spot in 2011. The French superstar DJ and world-renowned music producer was presented his award during AMF Presents Top 100 DJs, a virtual awards show in Amsterdam that was broadcast to the world. On his landmark win, David had this to say:
David Guetta: “Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me. To think it is 40 years since I first played in a club, and 10 years since I last won this award makes me quite emotional. When I first won 9 years ago I got a lot of hate for merging dance music with mainstream and pop and looking back now and seeing how it has shaped the industry and made it evolve is absolutely crazy. Winning now after I’ve gone back to what I did originally and releasing more underground music with my friend MORTEN and Future Rave, and with Jack Back, makes it even more special. I owe everything to my fans and whatever the future brings, I’ll be there, ready to soundtrack the party, and I hope you will too.“
Despite the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, dance music fans came out in force to support their favourite DJs in 2020’s Top 100 DJs poll. Almost 1.3 million votes were cast from just about every country on earth, demonstrating that while many people were stuck at home, their appetite for DJ culture remained strong. Indeed, the views that the Top 100 DJs Virtual Festival series received — 8.3 million during the Top 100 DJs voting period, from 95 different DJ sets, alongside almost £9,000 in Unicef donations — suggest that the appetite for performances from many of the world’s top DJs remains undiminished.
Winning Top 100 DJs caps a huge year for David Guetta, during which he has reconnected with DJ culture in a big way. As he states in his cover interview, which will feature in the next edition of DJ Mag, the Frenchman credits this win with renewed focus on dance tracks rather than pop hits. He hopes that his #FutureRave sound will ignite dancefloors once the world is allowed to rave again, and his determination to unite the disparate, under-fire international scene until that time is to be applauded.
He helped to raise over $1.5 million for COVID-19 relief efforts through his United At Home live stream events, watched by over 50 million viewers in addition to headlining Tomorrowland’s Around The World digital festival in July and achieving record-breaking views during DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs Virtual Festival series.
During his acceptance speech in Amsterdam, David Guetta drew attention to the fact that the electronic music industry has been hit hard by the pandemic. As a firm believer that culture can not be put on the back burner, Guetta made a rallying call to Governments the world over:
David Guetta: “It is not just the artists but also the hard working local residents, security teams, promoters and technicians around the world who have made dance music such a huge and thriving industry that demands respect on all levels. But right now, more needs to be done. Our industry has been hit extremely hard this year. Millions have lost work, and governments around the world have failed to acknowledge the importance of the music and entertainment industries. They require support just like any other. Culture cannot be put on the back burner. Governments need to take action.”
Prior to the pandemic, the Top 100 DJs Awards Ceremony was due to return to the main stage of AMF, at Amsterdam’s Johan Cruijff ArenA, where the No.1 DJ is typically crowned in front of 40,000 dance music fans. Naturally a virtual solution had to be found, for the safety of the fans and staff alike. Renewing a decade-long collaboration, DJ Mag teamed up with AMF to produce the Top 100 DJs Awards show – a celebration of electronic music in Amsterdam, the city that has been host to Top 100 DJs since 2011. The show connected performances from David Guetta, Don Diablo, Afrojack, Nicky Romero, Armin Van Buuren and more across landmark locations across Amsterdam.
David Guetta presented the future of DJing with a full set entirely produced or remix by him. His performance featured a combination of live music and DJing as David Guetta played each song as an original version made by him in his Future Rave sound.

David Guetta and Bebe Rexha reunite on Sad Girls, marking another release from one of the most commercially successful artist pairings in modern dance music. Blanke – SKYFIRE
Blanke continues the rollout toward his debut album with SKYFIRE, a two-track EP released as the second part of his ongoing album series. MAYETRIX makes his bitbird debut with HOLD ME CLOSE 2 U, his first original release after building early traction through SoundCloud remixes and unofficial flips. The Australian producer, also known as Josh Sytema, has developed a sound connected to hypertrap, dubstep, and Y2K-influenced bass music, with one of his flips reaching Coachella 2026 before he had released an original track. HOLD ME CLOSE 2 U moves the project into a more personal space, pairing soft synths with distorted bass while centering on human connection and the difficulty of expressing appreciation for people close to you. What So Not opens his next project era with EVEREST, the first single from his forthcoming EP I SAW A TRAP DJ AND IT CHANGED MY BIO CHEMISTRY. The track reunites him with Alina Pash after Tragic, their collaboration from What So Not and Buunshin’s 2025 EP The Quiet That Hurts, but this release pushes their partnership into a larger trap-focused sound tied to his early electronic roots. Ultra Europe 2026 has dropped its Phase 2 lineup, adding more names to its return to Split, Croatia from July 10 to 12, 2026 at Park Mladeži. Now heading into its 12th edition, the festival’s latest announcement brings in Armin van Buuren, Hardwell, DJ Snake, AFROJACK, and Subtronics, joining a Phase 1 lineup that already included Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix, FISHER, John Summit, and Amelie Lens. The update gives the 2026 edition a much fuller look across the Ultra Main Stage and RESISTANCE, while keeping more names saved for the next announcement.

Subtronics Stands Out Among Returning Ultra Europe Regulars
While several Phase 2 additions are familiar names for Ultra Europe, Subtronics still gives the 2026 announcement one of its more interesting talking points. He played Ultra Europe 2024, appearing on the same day as AFROJACK and DJ Snake, so his 2026 booking is not a debut. What makes it worth noting is the context around the booking. Ultra Europe has long been associated with mainstage EDM, house, techno, and its RESISTANCE programming, while large-scale bass bookings have not been as constant in the festival’s Croatia lineup. Bringing Subtronics back after 2024 keeps that part of the lineup visible and gives the July weekend a different pull next to the festival’s more established returning names.
For many of the other additions, Ultra Europe 2026 reads as a return to artists with a longer history in Split. Armin van Buuren, Hardwell, AFROJACK, and DJ Snake have all appeared at past editions, while Adam Beyer, CamelPhat, Jamie Jones, and Oliver Heldens have also been part of previous Ultra Europe lineups in recent years. That matters because Phase 2 is not relying only on newness. It brings back names already tied to the festival’s mainstage and RESISTANCE identity, then places Subtronics inside that structure as one of the less typical bookings for the Croatia edition. For a lineup that already had Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix, FISHER, John Summit, and Amelie Lens in Phase 1, this second announcement makes the 2026 edition feel more complete without giving away the full final lineup yet.
Ultra Europe 2026 Still Has More Names To Come Before July
With Phase 2 now out, Ultra Europe 2026 has a much clearer outline, but the lineup is still not complete. The festival has already confirmed a strong mix of mainstage names, RESISTANCE artists, and newer additions across the first two announcements, while the poster also confirms that Phase 3 is still on the way. That next update will likely help fill out the remaining stage programming, daily structure, and support acts as the festival moves closer to its July return to Split.
For now, the 2026 edition already has enough confirmed names to show how Ultra Europe is building its 12th edition. Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren, Hardwell, DJ Snake, Amelie Lens, Sara Landry, Adam Beyer, FISHER, John Summit, and Subtronics give the lineup both familiar Ultra names and bookings that widen the festival’s appeal.
