Decibel Open Air Announces Paul Kalkbrenner, Amelie Lens, Ben Klock, Richie Hawtin, And More As First Acts For 2021 Edition!
It’s time to say goodbye to 2020 as soon as possible, and it’s time to say welcome to 2021 and to a real renaissance. These are the reasons why today Decibel Open Air 2021 reveals its first wave of acts.
Paul Kalkbrenner (live), 999999999 (live), Amelie Lens, Ben Klock, Fisher, Gioli & Assia (live), Giorgia Angiuli (live), Kölsch, Michael Bibi, Pan-Pot, Reinier Zonneveld (live), Richie Hawtin e Wade: these are the first names announced by Decibel Open Air, the electronic music festival taking place in Visarno Arena in Florence Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th in September 2021. This first act is 40% of the full line-up. Many heavweights will soon be announced.
Decibel Open Air lineup is a spectacle, with many top players on stage. Paul Kalkbrenner is a real superstar, thanks to his 8 albums, his concerts in the most important festivals, his cult movie “Berlin Calling” and related soundtrack; Amelie Lens is a real techno queen: she plays in the best clubs and festivals, her Exhale parties and LENSKE (her label) releases are massive; charismastic and effective Ben Klock is resident at Berghain/Panorama Bar from its kick off in 2004; in 2015 his set won “The Essential Mix Of The Year” (BBC Radio 1); Fisher is considered of the global house superstars behind one of the biggest dance floor anthems of the last 10 years with “Losing It”; Richie Hawtin is a huge electronic music teacher, innovator and experimenter, in 2015 he was presented with an Honorary Doctorate of the University of Huddersfield.
Kölsch has built a reputation around his emotional brand of melodic techno, collaborating with the likes of Coldplay, Imogen Heap, London Grammar, Tiga and Michael Mayer; Solid Grooves boss, Dj Awards winner, Michael Bibi is a name a name that resonates with many for quality and something different: making music, playing music & a love for the party scene are the three things that motivate this man; Pan-Pot music placed a primacy on integrating electronic experimentation with minimal stylings while simultaneously establishing the ominous, murky sounds that have since become synonymous with their name; dutch techno master Reinier Zonneveld musical talent truly stands out during his live performances and he’s closing off this year with a new EP on his label Filth On Acid; Wade is practically unique, mixing convincing rhythms along with hip hop details, such as vocals and percussions.
999999999 is an italian techno duo, well respected in Italy and worldwide; multi-talented artists, musicians, producers and live act Giolì & Assia have plenty of strings to their bow; Giorgia Angiuli is a classically trained musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist. Very early on she developed a strong interest in electronic music and started to experiment with new live techniques.

Keanu Silva, Kickbait, and Carpoolboy reimagine Corona’s 1993 classic The Rhythm of the Night as a blazing UK Speed House anthem.
Keanu Silva, Kickbait, and Carpoolboy have joined forces for ‘Rhythm of Life’, a high-energy reimagining of Corona‘s legendary 1993 Eurodance classic ‘The Rhythm of the Night’. The track uses the original master vocal stems of the iconic 90s hook and builds around them with fresh original verses and a blazing UK Speed House production running at over 140 BPM, pairing pitch-bent vocal chops and euphoric old-school rave stabs with a driving modern bassline.
The result sits at an interesting crossover point between nostalgia and club currency, keeping the recognisable vocal that made ‘The Rhythm of the Night’ a global hit while wrapping it in a sound that is firmly rooted in what is dominating dancefloors right now. UK Speed House has been one of the more exciting movements in club music over the past couple of years, and ‘Rhythm of Life’ leans into its energy without losing the warmth of the source material.
Keanu Silva brings a track record of millions of streams and strong editorial support to the release, while Kickbait and Carpoolboy contribute the production weight and club-ready instincts that give the track its modern edge.

HoTL Records bring together Allan Piziano, Luis Erre & Celeda with ‘Good Time’, landing just as the Ibiza season gets underway.
HoTL Records bring together three defining voices in house music with ‘Good Time’, a new collaboration between Latin house pioneer Allan Piziano, tribal house producer Luis Erre, and iconic vocalist Celeda, best known for her seminal ‘Dance Music Is The Answer’. The tune arrives as the Ibiza season gets underway and temperatures in the northern hemisphere continue to rise, landing at exactly the right moment for what it is.
Widely regarded as a leading figure in the Mexican Latin house scene, Allan Piziano joins forces with Venezuelan veteran Luis Erre, whose signature Electrotribal sound has made him a recognisable name across the global club circuit. Together they craft a driving, club-ready groove built on rhythmic percussion and tech basslines, with Celeda’s commanding vocal presence anchoring the whole thing. Her voice has topped global dance charts for decades, and on Good Time it delivers the same sense of dancefloor liberation that made her a house music icon in the first place.
Good Time captures the tribal-soul energy that defines the HoTL Records catalogue and is the kind of record that builds momentum across a season rather than peaking on release day. As the summer stretch begins in earnest, it is already shaping up as one to watch on floors that lean toward the Latin and tribal side of house.

New EDM Friday Sep 4 brings new music from Hardwell, Sound Rush, ARTBAT, David Guetta, DubVision, Sara Landry, ARE WE DREAMING, and more.
Hardwell & Sound Rush – Iris
Hardwell and Sound Rush have come together on Iris, a hardstyle release through Revealed Recordings. The track brings Hardwell further into the harder direction he has been exploring across recent releases, while Sound Rush bring in the hardstyle sound that has shaped their own catalogue. Iris had already been heard in Hardwell’s live sets before release, including EDC Las Vegas 2026, giving the collaboration a clear live history before this week’s New EDM Friday. The release also continues Hardwell’s recent run on Revealed Recordings, following tracks such as Bang On The Drums with Bassjackers, Turn Up The Bass with W&W, and Bangkok with W&W. With both Dutch acts joining forces on a 160 BPM hardstyle track, Iris brings one of the week’s harder releases into New EDM Friday Sep 4.
ARTBAT & David Guetta – Somebody That I Used To Know
ARTBAT and David Guetta take on Somebody That I Used To Know, reworking Gotye and Kimbra’s 2011 single into a new electronic version. The release is listed as the ARTBAT x David Guetta Mix, with Gotye and Kimbra still credited on the track. For ARTBAT, the record follows their recent connection to melodic techno and large-scale electronic releases, while David Guetta brings another familiar vocal record into his 2026 run. The original remains one of the most recognizable crossover songs of the early 2010s, giving this version a strong reference point before moving it into a different dance setting. With ARTBAT and David Guetta reshaping a track already known far beyond electronic music, Somebody That I Used To Know brings one of the week’s biggest crossover releases into New EDM Friday Sep 4.
DubVision – Tonight
DubVision release Tonight, adding a progressive house track to New EDM Friday Sep 4. The release keeps the Dutch duo close to the melodic sound they have long been known for, with a focus on bright synth work, emotional progression, and a vocal-led structure. It follows a recent run that has included Run on STMPD RCRDS and their remix with Third Party for John Newman’s Love Me Again (Again). DubVision have also stayed closely tied to progressive house through records such as Starlight (Keep Me Afloat) and Wherever You Are with Martin Garrix and Shaun Farrugia, as well as Anywhere With You with AFROJACK and Lucas & Steve. With Tonight, DubVision bring one of the week’s main progressive house releases into New EDM Friday Sep 4.

Sara Landry – Interesting
Sara Landry keeps her Divine Intervention rollout moving with Interesting, a new single through her HEKATE label. The track pulls from hardstyle and hard techno, with glitchy synths, a spring-loaded bassline, and Sara Landry’s own spoken vocals giving it a more playful edge. Sara Landry described the release as “a little edgy and a little cheeky with a whole lot of bass,” adding that she wanted to have fun with it without holding back. Interesting follows a major 2026 run that includes her Ultra Music Festival Miami debut, a HEKATE stage takeover, a headline B2B with Amelie Lens, and a return to Coachella for a Quasar stage takeover with BLOOD OATH. With her sophomore album still ahead, Interesting brings Sara Landry back into New EDM Friday Sep 4 with a bass-heavy hard dance release made around attitude and control.
ARE WE DREAMING – Godlike
ARE WE DREAMING, the audio-visual EDM project from Brian Tyler, releases Godlike as part of this week’s New EDM Friday Sep 4. The track takes his cinematic background into a darker electronic direction, with robotic and ominous production that connects to more than 20 years of scoring film and video game projects including Avengers: Age Of Ultron and Call of Duty. Godlike was released for the “Musical Journey” theme, placing ARE WE DREAMING opposite Netrum and Halvorsen’s brighter NCS release Glowing. For Brian Tyler, the project opens a new chapter outside his long-running work as a composer, bringing his storytelling style into an electronic format built around both sound and visuals. With Godlike, ARE WE DREAMING brings one of the week’s darker and more cinematic releases into New EDM Friday Sep 4.
