Groove Cruise Announce Annual Undiscovered DJ Contest!

In celebration of the 18th anniversary of Groove Cruise, upcoming January 20-24th, the world’s premier dance music cruise is ecstatic to announce ‘Cruisin’ For Kindness’, their annual Undiscovered DJ Contest, this year with a charitable focus. This once in a lifetime opportunity will offer aspiring DJs the chance to spin a dream gig on Groove Cruise Orlando’s Day Life Hosted Stage, while being on the lineup alongside A-list talent Gorgon City, Sofi Tukker, Markus Schulz, Claude VonStroke, Ferry Corsten, Jeffrey Sutorius, CloZee, and many more.

The winner will also receive otherworldly prizes like:

• Day Life Artist-Fan Activity with host Alyx Ander
• Featured Mix on Day Life’s weekly episode on SiriusXM Chill
• Content to be shared on Day Life’s Triller segment following GC
• Artist Spotlight from renowned imprint Dancing Astronaut
• Feature on the Groove Cruise Radio (aka the highly popular iTunes Top 100 podcast with over 120,000 listeners)
• Stateroom accommodations for two
• Up to $600 in travel expenses

The contest will include two phases. In Phase One, entrants will submit their audio/video mixes to Groove Cruise at bit.ly/cruisin4kindness from June 16th to August 15th, 2021. In Phase two, selected entrants will be given a set time for their entry mixes to be played live on the Groove Cruise twitch channel. During the stream, contestants will be able to participate in live voting and can donate to the Whet Foundation’s Labadee Destination Donation charity relief trip for additional points (every dollar donated will equal one point). The three top point scorers will then be judged by an artist panel to determine the winner and runner-up.

The Whet Foundation is a Florida-based 501c3 organization that offers grassroots disaster relief for those experiencing hardships and creates exciting experiences for underprivileged children in South Florida, the Caribbean, and Mexico. Through their Community Captains and Destination Donation programs, they strive to excite the lives of those less fortunate in a fun and engaging way while positively affecting an entire generation.

The galactic Groove Cruise Orlando 2022 will see performances from over 60 of the dance music industry’s leading names, across nine custom-built stages, artist-fan activities, and more. Over four days, the universe also called well-known names John Summit, Dombresky, MitiS, Walker & Royce, Barclay Crenshaw, and many more into orbit. Dirtybird, Coldharbour, Odyzey, Day Life, Rules Don’t Apply, Born, Carnival, and Incorrect will represent the artist-hosted stages for this international party to and from the Caribbean Sea.

The party never stops aboard Groove Cruise, and Orlando 2022 will see 96-hours of non-stop dance music; alongside eight costume theme parties like Area 69, Fire and Ice, 50 Shades of Disney to name a few. Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas has incredible activities like dual racer water slides, VR bungee trampolines, a surf simulator, laser tag, ice skating, a fitness center, world-class dining from a high-end steakhouse, to hibachi and sushi, Italian, a sports bar and arcade, Johnny Rockets, Starbucks, and more.

Dropping anchor in Labadee, the private paradise Royal Caribbean has owned for 20+ years, this destination will be completely exclusive to Groove Cruise Captains. Alongside getting to explore the beautiful peninsula, there will be a shoreside takeover as one of the headliners will take the island stage live, plus excursions like the world’s largest zip line over water, a roller coaster, parasailing, private cabanas, and more! Surrounded and secluded with a natural mountain range, Labadee is rated the third private destination in the world by the Cruise Line Community, with over 1 million cruise passengers visiting safely each year. Upon arrival, the Whet Foundation’s volunteer group will be partaking on their annual Destination Donation project and will use the funds raised from Cruisin’ For Kindness to purchase supplies. Details TBA.
