Luca Lush And VARI Engage Hyperdrive On The Ghostly Melodic Bass Collab ‘Spectral Sequence’!

Luca Lush and VARI join forces on a ghostly single ‘Spectral Sequence’, as the fifth offering to surface on SLANDER’s Heaven Sent imprint.

The “emotional music sent from above” ethos of the recently minted Heaven Sent is encoded deep into the label’s next issue. Luca Lush and VARI are two highly volatile solo projects, who have continually shown they have forward-thinking experimentation down to a science. Each of them has tried their hand at mining a whole host of subgenres from across the bass music spectrum, and their research in the field is now culminating into a frenetic Frankenstein collaboration pulling from elements of future bass, breakbeat, neo-trance and more.

‘Spectral Sequence’ is a supersonic melodic bass phenomenon, formulated with a level of precision and programming power that would leave the latest iteration of AI stumped at trying to decipher its incalculable beauty. The cinematic intro builds tension gradually with twinkling keys and reverberating bottom-end, gradually picking up momentum like a sentient robot booting up before entering a state of self-awareness. Once all systems are fully online, it’s impossible to slow the spread of pure bliss as an intricate lattice of glitchy synth textures, euphoric arps, digitized tones, robust drums and oscillating bass start swirling into oblivion with supersonic speed. Add the luminous vocal loop into the equation, and it’s clear Luca Lush and VARI have cracked the code with an emotion-stimulating single that is anything but formulaic.

While this release may serve as both of the artists’ introduction to Heaven Sent, VARI is no stranger to releasing with SLANDER. His last single ‘Anodize’ materialized on their Gud Vibrations label last September, which showcased his knack for fusing industrial-strength bass with highly reactive melody work. The budding producer from Oklahoma has already dipped into dubstep and drum & bass, having built a small but extremely potent catalog closing the gap between gritty distorted and dreamy aesthetics.

Pulling his own weight on the opposite end is Luca Lush, the Brooklyn-based phenom with an adaptable sound spanning a wide range of influences. Regardless of the style, his frantic output flaunts an edgy originality stemming from his psyche being punctured by the wealth of DIY punk rock and house in the New York scene. His tenacious drive to never sit still sonically has positioned him to become an authority on speed house, electropop, trap, future house and any other sound worthy of receiving the sweet touch of Lush.

As these two anomalies continue to forge their path into the future of bass music, ‘Spectral Sequence’ is a moment of singularity eternalized through a jaw-dropping collab that is basically writing its own unique algorithm. It’s on you, if you’re able to keep up.

The Rave Realtor Releases Debut Single ‘Ritual’ On Reinelex Records

The Rave Realtor Ritual

The Rave Realtor is flipping the script, once selling homes, now dropping heavy basslines with debut single ‘Ritual’.

The Rave Realtor is a DJ and producer who’s proving it’s never too late to reinvent yourself. Once a real estate agent showing homes and signing contracts, she’s now showing up behind the decks with a debut single that’s anything but ordinary. Her first official release, ‘Ritual’, just dropped on Reinelex Records, and it’s already making noise in the bass community.

The track is exactly what her story sounds like: dark, bold, and unapologetic. It opens with haunting choirs and winding melodies before crashing into a heavy, chest-rattling drop that feels built for rail-riders and dreamers alike. It’s cinematic, intense, and personal, her way of turning her journey of self-discovery into sound.

“This track is my story in sound,” she explains. “It’s about shedding old skins, embracing your power, and creating your own ritual of self-discovery.”

What makes her stand out isn’t just the music, it’s her path to get here. With roots in saxophone and electric guitar, she’s always had music in her blood, but it took walking away from her old career (and the support of people she once leaned on) to finally bet on herself. That leap has turned her into more than just another new artist, she’s a symbol of going all in, even when the odds are stacked against you.

With ‘Ritual’, The Rave Realtor is introducing herself as a fresh force in bass music, blending raw dubstep energy with a melodic edge that sets her apart. It’s a statement track, and one that hints at even bigger things to come.

‘Ritual’ is out now on all streaming platforms via Reinelex Records.

What inspired your artist name, “The Rave Realtor”?

I used to be a full-time real estate agent, but my heart was always in music. When I left that career to follow my passion, the name stuck. It represents both where I came from and the new world I’m building through sound.

Tell us about your debut track “Ritual.” What does it mean to you?

Ritual is the beginning of my story in sonic form. It’s about shedding old skins, stepping into your power, and creating your own ritual of self-discovery. The dark choirs and ominous melodies represent the struggle, while the drop is that release of energy when you finally embrace who you are.

How would you describe your sound to someone who hasn’t heard you yet?

It’s heavy, cinematic, and melodic. I love mixing rail-rattling dubstep energy with atmospheric textures and live instrument elements. My goal is to make tracks that hit hard on the floor but also carry emotional depth.

What was it like leaving real estate to pursue music full-time?

Honestly, it was terrifying at first. I lost support from friends and family who didn’t understand why I’d leave a stable career. But it forced me to rely on myself, and that’s why my brand is all about radical self-discovery showing others that chasing your wildest dream is worth it.

Who are some of your biggest influences in music?

I take inspiration from artists who push boundaries. Artists like SVDDN DEATH and Excision for the sheer power of their sound. I also draw from my background in saxophone and electric guitar, so a lot of my inspiration comes from outside EDM as well.

How does your live background in instruments shape your productions

It adds a layer of authenticity. I think in melodies and harmonies because of sax and guitar, so even in my heaviest drops, you’ll hear those melodic lines weaving through. It gives the music soul beyond the sound design.

What do you want fans to feel when they hear Ritual?

I want them to feel empowered. To feel like they can shed fear, doubts, or expectations and step into their own ritual of becoming who they’re meant to be. And if they’re headbanging on the rail while doing it, even better.

How do you see your brand – serpent imagery, goddess energy – tying into your music?

The serpent symbolizes transformation and renewal. For me, that energy flows into everything I do, from the visuals to the music. It’s about embracing your power and moving with grace, even in chaos.

What excites you most about releasing on Reinelex Records?

Reinelex has such a strong reputation for supporting boundary-pushing bass artists. To release my debut with them is an honor, and I feel like it’s the perfect home for Ritual.

What’s next for The Rave Realtor after this release?

Ritual is just the beginning. I have follow-up works and collaborations that expand on the same dark, melodic energy. Beyond that, I want to bring my sound to bigger stages, keep inspiring people to chase their own paths, and build a community around radical self-discovery

Skrillex Treats Fans To Brand New Music

One week after sending out ‘Bibis Tower’ to all fans who subscribed to his mail list, Skrillex sent out another surprise track today. Titled ‘Scut,’ the song is one of the artist’s most anticipated IDs, having been played for the first time at Lost Lands 2023 by Infekt. Featuring a riddim sound, ‘Scut’ focuses on taking fans through an instrumental journey, rather than a lyrical experience.

After reinventing his style and releasing various genres of music since his comeback, Skrillex‘s new song has a feeling of nostalgia and can remind listeners of the classics that raised him to fame. The free release of ‘Scut’ can also be considered a gift to his supporters as Skrillex‘s second studio album, ‘Quest For Fire’ turned two years old today.

Teasing all this new music in people’s inboxes through a post on social media four weeks ago, Skrillex fans are now wondering if this could be a sign of a new album coming soon. The American DJ is set to be performing at Ultra Music Festival in March, making his return after ten years. His set is one of the most awaited, and it could be a great opportunity for Sonny to drop some fresh music on one of the world’s biggest stage.

Besides this, in November 2024, Skrillex announced on X that his partnership with Atlantic Records will come to an end with his next official project, becoming an independent artists from that moment onwards. The DJ and producer expressed his excitement about this new ‘independent’ beginning through a post on social media platform X:

“Now I’m able to rethink / relook at how structures are designed. I want to find ways to simplify decimating music and art.” Finally, the artist also spoke about how strange the term “independent” is in the music industry and how he will still depend on his team to put together what he does.

Only time will tell what’s to come next for Skrillex, but it seems like things are moving in the right direction for him and new exciting stuff is on the way from the EDM legend.
