aariaa – Knock It
After really laying down her mark in 2023, aariaa takes where she left off in the new year with a banging new single titled ‘Knock It’. Using her dynamism in the studio, she expertly crafts a pulsating single that is packed with energy, using atmospheric sounds and electro-infused synths.

Black and white high-energy shot of Fred Again.. screaming with excitement behind the decks in front of a massive, crowded festival tent with New EDM Friday Jan 23.

New EDM Friday Jan 23 is here and it has music from Fred again.. ft. Young Thug, David Guetta & MORTEN, Zeds Dead, and more.

The final full week of January has arrived, and it is officially STACKED. From cinematic drum & bass to glitchy emotional resets and “Future Rave” weapons, 2026 is already proving to be a year of creative risk-taking. Here are the releases you cannot miss today. And if you missed it, this is your official guide to the biggest releases for New EDM Friday Jan 23.

Fred again.. ft. Young Thug – scared

Following a relentless run of club-ready collaborations, Fred again.. returns with one of his most high-profile pairings yet, joining forces with Young Thug for “scared.” The track leans into a moody, mid-tempo groove, blending Fred’s signature atmospheric textures and organic percussion with Thugger’s unmistakable, elastic vocal delivery. It’s a haunting yet infectious record that bridges the gap between London’s underground electronic pulse and Atlanta’s trap royalty. Notably, “scared” stands out as one of the must-hear tracks on New EDM Friday Jan 23.

David Guetta & MORTEN ft. Trippie Redd – Locked In

The Future Rave movement enters a new chapter as David Guetta and MORTEN recruit Trippie Redd for “Locked In.” This collaboration brings a dark, hip-hop edge to the duo’s signature big-room techno sound. The contrast between the heavy, subterranean basslines and Trippie’s melodic, raspy flow creates a high-energy anthem built for the world’s biggest mainstages. Furthermore, Locked In brings massive festival energy to this week’s New EDM Friday Jan 23 lineup.

Zeds Dead ft. IMANU & MKLA – Runaway

Canadian legends Zeds Dead link up with Rotterdam visionary IMANU and vocalist MKLA for the stunning new single “Runaway.” Released via Deadbeats, this is a cinematic fusion of future bass and drum & bass. Opening with luminous synths and an ethereal drop, the track subverts expectations by erupting into a high-octane second half that showcases IMANU’s razor-sharp DnB sensibilities. MKLA’s delicate yet commanding vocals serve as the emotional anchor, making this a truly timeless piece of electronic art. As a highlight of New EDM Friday Jan 23, this release should not be overlooked.

Tej – HEY ME, IT’S ME (EP)

Mumbai-born, US-based artist Tej marks a major milestone today with his debut EP, HEY ME, IT’S ME, out on San Holo’s bitbird. Positioned somewhere between the emotional weight of Fred again.. and the disruptive energy of 33 Below, the EP is a personal reset for the 25-year-old. Focus track “A MOMENT I REMEMBER” captures warm emotional release through glitchy vocal work and playful bass. With early support from Skrillex and San Holo himself, Tej is officially one to watch in 2026. In summary, New EDM Friday Jan 23 delivers a diverse mix of talent and sounds for electronic fans everywhere.

Team Shawn – DRUM (DA DA DA DA)

Neumonic & Mary Droppinz – What?

Bass music’s rising star Neumonic joins forces with LA-based veteran Mary Droppinz for the experimental dubstep cut, “What?.” This track is a dark, euphoric journey that switches between breakbeats and classic UK dubstep staples like wobbling basslines and dub sirens. It’s a “head-turning” record that lives up to its name, pushing the boundaries of sound design in a way that has already garnered support from Jamie xx and Skrillex.

Nostalgix – Fall Apart

Ahead of her debut album Inferno, Nostalgix reveals her most vulnerable side yet with “Fall Apart.” In a striking departure from her usual high-octane bass house energy, this track is a slow-burn emotional release built on lyrical storytelling and restrained tension. It documents a moment of internal reckoning, showcasing the Iranian-born producer’s growth as both a songwriter and a vocalist as she prepares for her massive 2026 album tour.

Shlump – Oh My Gatos

Bay Area producer Shlump kicks off a new era with “Oh My Gatos,” the first single from his forthcoming debut full-length album on WAKAAN. Moving beyond rigid “build-drop” formulas, the track is character-rich bass music filled with warped low-end and off-kilter sound design. After going viral on social media with millions of views, the “Gatos” energy is officially ready for the dancefloor. New EDM Friday Jan 23 delivers something exciting for every dance music enthusiast.
