New EDM Friday May 22 brings together major collaborations, new singles, remixes, and bass releases, covering melodic dance, trance, house, bass, and crossover electronic music. From Kygo and Armin van Buuren to HUGEL, Pauline Herr, Zeds Dead, Subtronics, and Tape B, these are the tracks you should not miss on this week’s New EDM Friday.
Kygo & Dan Tyminski – Heaven On Your Mind
Kygo teams up with Dan Tyminski on Heaven On Your Mind, a new release that connects directly to Avicii’s influence on modern electronic music. Dan Tyminski is best known in EDM for his vocal performance on Avicii’s Hey Brother, making his appearance here feel intentional, especially as early previews framed the track around Kygo’s tribute to Avicii. Kygo has spoken many times about Avicii’s role in inspiring his own move into electronic music, and that connection also appeared in 2020 when he completed and released Forever Yours with Sandro Cavazza after Avicii’s passing. With Dan Tyminski’s folk-rooted vocal tone placed over Kygo’s melodic production, Heaven On Your Mind gives this week’s New EDM Friday one of its most meaningful crossover releases.
Armin van Buuren x Hannah Laing x Wippenberg – U Got 2 Know
Armin van Buuren, Hannah Laing, and Wippenberg release U Got 2 Know, a new collaboration that brings trance, hard dance, and classic Eurodance influence into this week’s New EDM Friday. The track takes its title from Cappella’s early 1990s dance record, connecting the release to a recognizable club-era reference while placing it in a current dance music setting. With Armin van Buuren representing one of trance’s biggest names, Hannah Laing bringing her harder club sound, and Wippenberg adding his long-running link to trance and electronic music, U Got 2 Know is one of the strongest entries in this Friday’s new music releases.
HUGEL, Imael Angel, Ultra Naté – Movin’ To The Sun
HUGEL returns with Imael Angel and Ultra Naté on Movin’ To The Sun, the first single from his upcoming debut album Twenty One. Released through HUGEL’s Make The Girls Dance imprint, the track pairs Ultra Naté’s house vocal background with Imael Angel’s songwriting and HUGEL’s Latin house production. The release follows HUGEL’s Coachella debut, his return to Hï Ibiza, and new Las Vegas dates at XS Las Vegas, Encore Beach Club, and EBC at Night. As one of this Friday’s new music releases, Movin’ To The Sun gives New EDM Friday a house entry tied directly to HUGEL’s wider album rollout.
Pauline Herr – HIGHONYOU
Pauline Herr returns to bitbird with HIGHONYOU, a techno-trap release inspired by the early intensity of a new relationship. Written after Pauline Herr met her now-boyfriend in Tokyo, the track channels that feeling through emotional vocals, glitchy FX, soft piano chords, and 808-led production. Pauline Herr also points to old Virtual Self songs and video game textures as part of the track’s influence, giving HIGHONYOU a sound that moves between late-night techno pressure and trap structure. As one of this Friday’s new music releases, HIGHONYOU adds a darker and more personal entry to this week’s New EDM Friday.
Zeds Dead, Subtronics, Tape B – Word Scramble (HEYZ Flip)
HEYZ flips Word Scramble by Zeds Dead, Subtronics, and Tape B, turning the 2026 dubstep collaboration into a heavier bass edit for this week’s New EDM Friday. The new version keeps the attitude of the original while pushing it further into HEYZ’s own bass production style, with sharper drops and a sound made for live sets. The release follows HEYZ’s EDC Las Vegas debut and his sold-out hometown LASER CAGE show at Denver’s Ogden Theatre, adding another major moment to his current run. As one of this Friday’s new music releases, Word Scramble (HEYZ Flip) gives New EDM Friday a bass-focused entry from one of the scene’s fastest-rising names.
BrokinPaper – Damage
BrokinPaper releases Damage, the first single from his upcoming album, which is set for September. The track introduces a darker direction for the New York City electronic artist, pulling from UK bass and UK garage while keeping the production bass-heavy, distorted, and minimal in structure. BrokinPaper said the track started as something deliberately bass-heavy for FUNCTION OVER FORM, with the lead synth added before the drop to give the bassline more context. As one of this Friday’s new music releases, Damage gives New EDM Friday an industrial-leaning electronic entry tied to his upcoming album, his May 29 headline show at Trans-Pecos in Queens, and recent fashion event appearances with Gucci.

Scarper releases ‘Off-Cuts (2014-2021)’, a collection of eight unreleased tracks from the era behind his debut album ‘Warmer Squares’ and ‘E-Funk’.
UK artist Scarper has released ‘Off-Cuts (2014-2021)’, a hand-picked collection of eight previously unreleased tracks pulled from the same period that produced his critically acclaimed debut album ‘Warmer Squares’ and his 2020 dancefloor tune ‘E-Funk’, which has been experiencing a resurgence thanks to a recent physical release on a new imprint.
The project is exactly what it sounds like, Scarper going back through his studio archives and finding the demos, jams, and ideas from that era that were good enough to polish up and put out. “I realised I had quite a few demos, jams and ideas on my laptop from that period, some of which were decent enough to polish up and get out into the world,” he said. “It’s a snapshot of where I was musically at the time, so I thought I’d package them together as a retrospective rather than a proper release, giving people something to enjoy while I crack on with the next project.”
The eight tracks cover a lot of ground, from the epic opening chords of ‘Skynet’ to the acid squelches of ‘Steppe’ and the string arrangements of ‘Halocline’. It is the kind of release that rewards the people who have been paying attention, and sits comfortably alongside some of his best work.
Scarper has built his career almost entirely on his own terms, releasing through his own imprint Plexus Records and picking up support from Orbital, Laurent Garnier, Carl Craig, Rinse FM, BBC 6 Music, Mixmag, and DJ Mag along the way.

Los Padres are coming in hot with another tech house heater as they drop their new single ‘Drown Me.’
The Orlando based DJ duo are renowned for their tasty blend of tech house, Afro house, melodic techno along with some Latin inspirations. This signature sound is on full display as ‘Drown Me’ centres around tech house but is packed with Latin influence on the intricate percussion. The track gets grooving right from the word go and keeps that energy up throughout making it a perfect club track to get people onto the dancefloor. While other tracks can get tiresome driving from start to finish, Los Padres have delivered great dynamism across the track with evolving beats and impactful shifts in bass.

Dom Dolla, Solomun, Skepta – DANGER DANGER
Dom Dolla, Solomun, and Skepta come together on DANGER DANGER. The track pairs Skepta’s vocals with two major names in electronic music. It was tested across their Ibiza residencies this summer, including Dom Dolla at Hï Ibiza, Solomun +1 at Pacha, and Skepta’s Más Tiempo at Hï Ibiza. Later, Dom Dolla opened his sold-out Marvel Stadium show with the track. With DANGER DANGER, the three artists bring one of the week’s biggest collaborations into New EDM Friday Oct 2.
David Guetta & Jast – Mariô
David Guetta and Jast team up on Mariô. The track adds another major name pairing to this week’s releases. It follows David Guetta’s recent 2026 run, including You and I, Me and You with Hypaton. It also follows Somebody That I Used To Know with ARTBAT and Gotye. For Jast, the release places his name beside one of dance music’s biggest artists. With Mariô, David Guetta and Jast bring a direct dance release into New EDM Friday Oct 2.
Tiesto ft. Cleopard2000 & CH4YN – Hard To Be Around
Tiesto teams up with Cleopard2000 and CH4YN on Hard To Be Around. The track had already been heard in his recent live and radio sets. First, it appeared in Tiësto’s Prismatic 028 episode in July. Later, it appeared in setlists from Silverworks Island, Breakaway Festival, and Portola Music Festival. With Hard To Be Around, Tiesto, Cleopard2000, and CH4YN bring a live-tested dance release into New EDM Friday Oct 2.
Tape B – Ghost in the Static (Album)
Tape B releases Ghost in the Static, his debut album and a 12-track project inspired by classic dubstep and the UKF era. The album features Zaytoven on Signature Sound, Effin on I’ll Never Know, and Dani King on Underneath Your Skin. Across the project, he covers heavy low-end, melodic writing, hip-hop influence, and nostalgic bass textures. The release also follows sold-out headline shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Salt Shed, Shrine Expo Hall, Echostage, and The Armory. With Ghost in the Static, Tape B brings his first full album into New EDM Friday Oct 2.
