Oliver Heldens Collaborates With Nile Rodgers & House Gospel Choir On ‘I Was Made For Lovin’ You’!
Scene leader Oliver Heldens continues his string of collaborations with disco legend Nile Rodgers on his new single, adding the talents of London’s incredible House Gospel Choir on an unexpected cover of ‘70/’80s rock legends KISS’ ‘I Was Made For Lovin’ You’. It’s the track that 2022 didn’t know it needed, but it most definitely does.
Having previously worked together on their huge collaboration ’Summer Lover’ and Oliver’s official remix of Chic’s ‘Le Freak’ for its 40th anniversary, Heldens and Rodgers make a formidable partnership which grows stronger still with this gorgeous new single. Heldens works his magic once again on this huge crossover anthem which blends his own pumping house beats and funked-up bass with Rodgers’ disco guitar links, House Gospel Choir’s rousing delivery of the vocal refrain. The result is a track which is destined to become one of the big festival and Ibiza anthems this summer, bursting with feel-good, sunshine-drenched energy. It’s a genius collaboration by one of the leading names in dance music, one of the most legendary hitmakers in all of music, and one of the most innovative outfits in the house music scene.
“I always love working with Oliver, and House Gospel Choir is the icing on the jamming cake”, says Nile Rodgers.
“When I made the very funk & disco inspired bassline for this track in 2015, I knew it was one of my best basslines since ‘Gecko’, and I just had to send it to one of my all-time heroes Nile Rodgers. He also loved it and he blessed the track with his signature jamming electric funk guitars, which was a dream come true for me! Finding the right vocal for this track has been a real journey though, I’ve done over a dozen of toplines on it with several singers/songwriters, but in the end the hook of KISS’ iconic hit “I Was Made For Lovin’ You” turned out to be a match made in heaven. And with the extraordinary House Gospel Choir on board, they managed to make it sound even more heavenly! This song has been such a vibe in my sets, so I can’t wait for it to be finally released! :)”, says Oliver Heldens.
Nile Rodgers’ work as guitarist, songwriter, arranger and producer for his legendary disco act Chic as well as the likes of Madonna, David Bowie, Sister Sledge, INXS, Duran Duran, and many more has helped to sell over 500 million albums and 75 million singles worldwide. His music has been rediscovered by a new generation of fans thanks to his collaborations in recent times with the likes of Daft Punk, Wiz Khalifa, and SG Lewis, and his inimitable guitar style makes a perfect fit for Heldens’ disco-house grooves. The House Gospel Choir are an incredible group who perform live cover versions of house and garage classics, singing multi-part harmonies over a DJ playing backing tracks, and with performances from London’s Printworks to some of the leading festivals around, they’re a fast-rising name.
Oliver Heldens has been blazing a trail through 2022, with a sold-out Heldeep Records pool party at Miami Music Week lauded as one of the best parties of the week, alongside his mainstage set at Ultra Music Festival and his surprise appearances with Kaskade and Tchami. His recent collab with Anabel Englund ‘Déjà Vu’ hit #1 on US Dance Radio and has racked up millions of streams, while he continues to delight fans of his darker HI-LO sounds with his most recent offering coming in the form of the dance floor stomper ‘Industria’ with Eli Brown on Reinier Zonnveld’s Filth On Acid.

BETH Turns Up the Energy With New Single ‘Wait’
Scottish producer BETH returns on The Cross Records with new single Wait, following a breakout 2026 of festival slots, Ibiza dates and Radio 1 support.
In the space of a year, BETH has gone from respected up and comer to a genuine festival act. Her debut on The Cross Records, “Keep It Movin’,” is closing in on 1 million streams, and she’s kept up a steady run of releases on labels like TSHA’s Jackfruit, Eats Everything’s Edible, and Melon Bomb Records, along with a well received remix of Karen Harding’s “Island.” That output has earned her support on BBC Radio 1, with plays from Sarah Story and Arielle Free.
Her live schedule has kept pace too. This year she’s played TRNSMT Festival, Sub Club, Cabaret Voltaire, and SWG3 in Scotland, Mas Que Nada in London, and Lakota in Bristol, plus Ibiza dates at Hï, Cova Santa, and Pikes.

“Wait” marks a step forward in her production. Where “Keep It Movin'” leaned into sultry, harmonic melodies, “Wait” goes bigger and brighter, built around euphoric piano chords, a driving 90s inspired break, and deep reese bass. It’s a feel good summer record from an artist whose rise shows no signs of slowing down.

Scarper Drops ‘Off-Cuts (2014-2021)’ Compilation
Scarper releases ‘Off-Cuts (2014-2021)’, a collection of eight unreleased tracks from the era behind his debut album ‘Warmer Squares’ and ‘E-Funk’.
UK artist Scarper has released ‘Off-Cuts (2014-2021)’, a hand-picked collection of eight previously unreleased tracks pulled from the same period that produced his critically acclaimed debut album ‘Warmer Squares’ and his 2020 dancefloor tune ‘E-Funk’, which has been experiencing a resurgence thanks to a recent physical release on a new imprint.
The project is exactly what it sounds like, Scarper going back through his studio archives and finding the demos, jams, and ideas from that era that were good enough to polish up and put out. “I realised I had quite a few demos, jams and ideas on my laptop from that period, some of which were decent enough to polish up and get out into the world,” he said. “It’s a snapshot of where I was musically at the time, so I thought I’d package them together as a retrospective rather than a proper release, giving people something to enjoy while I crack on with the next project.”
The eight tracks cover a lot of ground, from the epic opening chords of ‘Skynet’ to the acid squelches of ‘Steppe’ and the string arrangements of ‘Halocline’. It is the kind of release that rewards the people who have been paying attention, and sits comfortably alongside some of his best work.
Scarper has built his career almost entirely on his own terms, releasing through his own imprint Plexus Records and picking up support from Orbital, Laurent Garnier, Carl Craig, Rinse FM, BBC 6 Music, Mixmag, and DJ Mag along the way.
‘Off-Cuts (2014–2021)’ is out now on Plexus Records.
