Save Our Scene UK Presents #FreedomToDance
On Sunday 27th June 2021, Save Our Scene UK (“SOS”), #LetUsDance and friends will be demonstrating in London with performances from some of the biggest names in music. It is expected to be the largest demonstration the music industry has ever seen.
Kai Cant, the founder of Abode came to SOS with the initial idea and has since rallied DJs and powerhouses from across all corners of the scene to come together under the rallying cry of #FreedomToDance!
The march will depart from Marble Arch at 12pm on Sunday making its way to Parliament, with DJ sets from the likes of Alan Fitzpatrick, Eats Everything, East End Dubs, Fat Tony, Franky Wah, Hannah Wants, Jess Bays, Max Chapman, Charlie Tee, Kizzy Alicia, SUAT, Seb Zito, SOSA, Waff, Summer Ghemati, Wheats, and many more…
The Founder of SOS, George Fleming says, “Whilst it’s great to see waves of football fans partying in London, it really asks us a question, why is the music industry still being suffocated by the Government? We have proven that we can open responsibly, and 58,000 people took part in the pilot events, of which only 15 people tested positive (5 of which were home related). This has proven the industry can successfully carry out safe events without adding to the spread of the virus.”
Michael Kill CEO NTIA / Savenightlife CIC #LetUsDance says “The Government has consistently marginalised our sector, we have had to fight for every bit of support and engagement throughout the pandemic. We have been continually targeted by the Government and excluded within every announcement. Our Industry is recognised and valued across the world, yet undervalued by our own Government. It’s time to push back and show the power of electronic music and the night time economy through its greatest asset, its people! Time to #Letusdance.”
Eats Everything, leading U.K. artist says, “This Government is all about money, and it can’t be that our industry isn’t financially beneficial to them because we clearly are, so it has to be merely down to the fact that they don’t like the culture plain and simple. I’m absolutely not a Covid denier or anti mask/vaxer in any way shape or form, but what I am is a person who is a member of an industry that has been totally downtrodden time and time again…Stop ruining hearts, minds and livelihoods”.
Hannah Wants, British DJ and Producer, who is also performing on Sunday says, “I’m proud and excited that the dance music industry is coming together as one to ultimately fight for our industries future.”
The industry has lost all confidence in the Government over their handling of the arts through the last 18 months and there are huge signs that the Government has a complete disregard for the very industry which makes life so worth living for workers and music lovers combined.
Fleming continues “We are protesting this week to tell the Government that enough is enough and we will not stay silent any longer. Too many jobs have been lost and the damage has become irreversible. Around 10,000 licensed venues have already closed permanently and over 400,000 live events staff have lost their jobs. Our message to the Government is if they delay any further, we will be on the streets protesting daily. We cannot afford to wait any longer.”
One of the organisers, Kai Cant says, “Some might ask, why protest now, it’s only 4 weeks away? To which I answer, if we stay silent, this will present a greater potential for the Government to delay again and again. We have run many polls over the past 2 days, which shows on average 90% of the population don’t believe they will lift all restrictions on July 19th. This shows a complete lack of confidence, so that is why we are here today. For the people.”
Save Our Scene supports people’s personal choice in whether they decide to engage with the vaccination programme or not and they respect people’s opinion on the matter.
They have also encouraged everyone to act responsibly, safely and pick up their litter on the march.

Sónar Week 2026: Barcelona’s Citywide Electronic Music Takeover Announced
Sónar Week 2026 is set to transform Barcelona into a global epicentre of electronic music and innovation from June 18–20, featuring a consolidated festival site and a massive constellation of events.
For one week every June, Barcelona becomes the global epicentre of electronic music, creativity and innovation. At the centre of this transformation stands Sónar – the original city-based electronic music festival – driving an ever-expanding constellation of events, collaborations and gatherings that together form Sónar Week.
In 2026, Sónar Week unfolds as a true citywide takeover, activating Barcelona from end to end and throughout the city limits. What began more than three decades ago as a pioneering electronic music festival is today a coordinated ecosystem that connects music, technology, art and club culture across multiple districts and iconic venues.
Sónar 2026- More Sónar than ever
At the heart of Sónar Week stands a newly consolidated Sónar at Fira Gran Via (L’Hospitalet). For the first time, the Day and Night programmes unite in a single venue, with uninterrupted music from 17:00 until late into the night – and into the morning on Friday and Saturday.
Across six stages – three outdoor and three indoor – Sónar 2026 presents more than 100 shows spanning genres, generations and geographies, reaffirming its position at the centre of global electronic culture. This year’s lineup brings together landmark live performances and DJ sets from The Prodigy, Kelis, Skepta, Charlotte de Witte, Amelie Lens, Dom Dolla, Chris Stussy, Modeselektor, Cabaret Voltaire, WhoMadeWho, SBTRKT, FJAAK & Kittin (Live) and Speedy J presents STOOR, alongside defining club figures such as Goldie b2b Doc Scott & Medic MC, Nia Archives, Joy Orbison, KETTAMA, Sammy Virji, Addison Groove, Two Shell, Wata Igarashi (Live), Boys Noize, ISA, DJ MARIA, Alba Franch, Clementaum b2b LAZA and many more, offering a panoramic snapshot of the contemporary electronic scene – from foundational pioneers to the most forward-facing sounds shaping dance floors today.
All ticket types for Sónar 2026 are available at sonar.es. Ticket options include SonarPass (access to all three days of Sónar at Fira Gran Via), Weekend Tickets (access to Friday and Saturday), and Single-Day Tickets for each of the three days, with prices starting from €39.

Sónar+D – Rebooted in the heart of the city
Sónar+D 2026 relocates to Llotja de Mar, in the centre of Barcelona, reinforcing its role as the cultural and conceptual axis of Sónar Week.
Taking place on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 June (10:00-20:00), the 14th International Congress of Innovation, Creativity and Technology maintains its four core pillars – Talks, Exhibition, Community and Performance – while deepening its commitment to critical thinking, experimentation and cross-disciplinary exchange.
Sónar+D is an event like no other: a conference that thinks like a festival. Scientists meet musicians. Designers share space with researchers. Digital installations coexist with performances. It is where local creative communities connect with international innovators, and where ideas whose time has yet to come are explored collectively.
In 2026, Sónar+D will also expand its presence within Fira Gran Via through immersive digital art installations integrated into the festival site itself -— further dissolving the boundaries between discourse and celebration.
SonarPass+D tickets are still available at sonar.es. These passes grant access to all of Sónar (18, 19 and 20 June) at Fira Gran Via and to the full Sónar+D programme (18 and 19 June) at Llotja de Mar.
Very soon, the 2-Day Sónar+D Ticket and single-day Sónar+D Tickets will go on sale, providing access exclusively to Llotja de Mar at affordable prices.
Sónar District – 2 days of events at Parc del Fòrum
In 2026, Sónar extends its footprint to the Mediterranean coastline with the creation of Sónar District at Parc del Fòrum – a new open-air hub that broadens the musical programme during Sónar Week and contributes to the festival’s presence throughout the city.
Across two days, Sónar District will host three major events representing distinct currents in contemporary dance music. Kicking off their 2026 season, Solid Grooves, the UK powerhouse label and event series founded by Michael Bibi and PAWSA, synonymous with cutting-edge house, stripped-back club energy and one of the defining brands of the modern Ibiza circuit, will take over 2 stages at Parc del Forum on Friday 19 June. Sónar District will also host the return of Sónar Kids on Saturday 20 June (11:00-20:00), a family-focused programme inviting children and adults alike to experience music and creativity together in a safe, specially adapted environment.
Faithful to Sónar’s exploratory spirit, Sónar Kids encourages younger audiences to experiment with sound, discover artistic expression and participate in shared creative experiences.
Like Sónar+D, Sónar Kids is scheduled to allow parents to combine attendance with the main Sónar programme at Fira Gran Via – reinforcing Sónar Week as an inclusive, multi-generational celebration.
Affordably priced tickets for Sónar Kids on Saturday 20 June at Parc del Fòrum, as part of Sónar District, will go on sale soon.
A city-wide takeover
From Poble Espanyol to Parc del Fòrum, from L’Hospitalet to the historic centre, Sónar Week 2026 unfolds as a citywide takeover, activating Barcelona from end to end and throughout the city limits. Across the week, more than 180 artists will perform over 18 stages, welcoming upwards of 172,000 attendees from around the world. In parallel, Sónar+D will present more than 30 conferences, workshops and performances, reinforcing the festival’s commitment to innovation, critical thinking and cross-disciplinary exchange.

Nichols+Roark unveil ‘Full Circle EP’ debut on Renaissance
UK electronic duo Nichols+Roark mark a defining milestone with their ‘Full Circle EP,’ the debut release on the legendary Renaissance label. The four-track EP serves as both a creative statement and a deeply personal milestone for the artists, whose relationship with the label spans over three decades.
For Nichols+Roark, the title ‘Full Circle’ carries a genuine meaning. Over 20 years ago, they were both regulars at Renaissance parties across Nottingham, Ibiza, and London. These experiences helped shape their musical outlook and left a lasting impression on their artistic direction. To now release an EP on the same label represents a powerful return to where their journey first began.
Across four tracks, Nichols+Roark seamlessly fuse modern progressive house textures with a definable indie dance edge. Expect emotive songwriting merged with driving club energy, which showcases their diverse musical range and collaborative spirit.
Marcus James, Renaissance Managing Director comments:
“Delighted to welcome N+R to the Renaissance family. Catching the contemporary line of the current progressive movement, they represent everything we stand for today – futurism, creativity and edge.”
Opening tracks ‘Superfly’ and ‘Rhythm State’ lean directly into Nichols+Roark’s formative indie dance identity, built around rolling basslines, tight percussive arrangements, and searing melodic motifs. Both tracks carry an emotive, introspective undercurrent, with Rhythm State leaning into futuristic, sci-fi-tinged synths, while Superfly is formed around an instantly recognisable four-bar loop that anchors its groove and character throughout.
At the heart of Rhythm State is the vocal hook “listen to the rhythm,” a deliberate counter to today’s fast-moving, skip-driven listening culture, inviting listeners to stay with the groove and experience its unfolding textures. In contrast, Superfly captures the feeling of freedom that defines the best club experiences.
‘Loyou’ – a collaboration with German artist Zoka, showcases a fresh creative direction. Born from a connection sparked on the dancefloor during ADE’s Innversions infamous sunrise party at The Loft. Inspired by 80s sci-fi aesthetics and pure analogue synth textures that are reminiscent of Stranger Things, the track fluidly blends haunting vocal chops alongside nostalgic synth work to create a dark, otherworldly, cinematic atmosphere.
Closing the project is ‘Blue’ featuring Ro (Rory Hope), remixed by the German powerhouse that is Ron Flatter, completing the narrative arc of the EP. Originally released independently as a vibrant synth-pop track exploring vulnerability and heartbreak, Nichols+Roark approached Ron Flatter to reinterpret the record for clubland. The remix retains the emotional weight of the original vocal while giving the groove the confidence and scale needed to resonate across global dancefloors.
The ‘Full Circle’ EP reflects both where Nichols + Roark have come from and where they’re headed next. Rooted in deep connection, collaboration and musical evolution, it marks an important new chapter for the duo. Completing the full Circle journey, they will also appear alongside Anthony Pappa at the RENAISSANCE x DEEP UNDERGROUND Official Afterparty ‘Rave In A Cave’ in Nottingham at the start of April, where a selection of their latest tracks, including cuts from the Full Circle EP will be featured in their set.
