Sónar unveils its first 30 artists as Sónar by Day returns to central Barcelona and Sónar by Night brings back its two-night format

More than three decades after Sónar first began in Barcelona, the festival is changing its format for 2027. Taking place from June 17–19, its 34th edition will bring Sónar by Day back into central Barcelona at a new waterfront location. Sónar by Night will also return to two nights at Fira Gran Via. The first announcement brings together 30 artists across live performances and DJ sets, including Bonobo, Tokischa, Yung Lean, Jessie Ware, Carl Cox, Peggy Gou, KI/KI, Romy and Honey Dijon. More artists will join the lineup ahead of next June.

Sónar by Day Returns to Central Barcelona

Bringing Sónar by Day back to central Barcelona reconnects the daytime festival with the city where Sónar began in 1994. Across all three days, the new waterfront location will host music alongside Sónar+D, which will bring artists, researchers, innovators and institutions together around technology, creativity and research.

The nighttime side of the festival will remain at Fira Gran Via on Friday, June 18 and Saturday, June 19. Following audience demand, Sónar by Night is restoring its two-night format. SonarClub, SonarPub, SonarLab and SonarCar will host performances across four stages.

First 30 Artists Include Bonobo, Carl Cox and Peggy Gou

Within the live lineup, Bonobo will present a new show for Distance in Static, with Pierre Claude overseeing the stage production. His previous work includes shows for Air, Gesaffelstein and Phoenix. Tokischa will make her Sónar debut, while Yung Lean, Jessie Ware, Frost Children and Cornelius also join the live lineup.

Several names are returning after long gaps between Sónar appearances. Carl Cox will play the festival for the first time in more than two decades, while Oscar Mulero returns after 20 years. The lineup also includes Peggy Gou, KI/KI, Romy and Honey Dijon presents Sinister, while Chris Liebing and Speedy J will perform together as Collabs3000.

Goldie will perform live after a collarbone injury prevented his 2026 appearance, while Job Jobse will make his Sónar debut. Donato Dozzy & Batu, Aurora Halal, Funk Assault, SALOME, Tash LC, Yu Su and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith are also confirmed in the first 30.

Sónar Week Continues Across Barcelona

Beyond Sónar by Day, Sónar by Night and Sónar+D, the wider Sónar Week schedule will include events at several locations across Barcelona. Sónar District returns to Parc del Fòrum on Friday and Saturday, while Sónar Kids will also take place there following its sold-out 2026 edition.

At Poble Espanyol, OFFSónar will run from Thursday through Sunday with parties from international labels and club brands. Tickets for Sónar 2027 are already on sale through SonarPass and SonarPass+D, with the rest of the lineup still to be announced.
