Tape B and Effin team up on “I’ll Never Know” for their third collaboration following “Ups and Downs” and their “Back to Black” remix

Tape B and Effin have joined forces once again for their new single, “I’ll Never Know,” bringing together two of bass music’s most distinctive creative perspectives. The track reflects their shared love for hip-hop, nostalgia and forward-thinking electronic production, continuing the creative chemistry first heard across their previous releases together. “I’ll Never Know” also comes ahead of Tape B’s debut album, Ghost in the Static, which will feature Effin, Zaytoven, Dani King and more.

From “Ups and Downs” to “I’ll Never Know”

The duo’s official release history together dates back to Effin’s 2025 album Daydreams, where they first joined forces on “Ups and Downs.” The track incorporated hip-hop elements, reflecting their mutual connection and appreciation for the culture while establishing the creative chemistry that has continued to develop. Later that same year, the pair reunited for an unofficial remix of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black,” earning more than 651,000 streams on SoundCloud and offering another example of their shared instinct for pulling from the past and giving those influences new life.

For Tape B, the collaboration fits into a catalogue that brings together classic dubstep and hip-hop influence. His recent releases include “Signature Sound” with Zaytoven, Car Tunes Vol: 5 and “Underneath Your Skin” with Dani King via Monstercat, while earlier collaborations include “Trippy Land” with Juicy J.

Effin brings his own approach through detailed sampling, emotional songwriting, vintage influences and unconventional production techniques. His recent music has explored love, memory and nostalgia through decades-old recordings, forgotten live performances, film dialogue, jazz instrumentation and heavily manipulated vocals. Those ideas have developed across his albums Cheap Thrills and Daydreams, with “I’ll Never Know” bringing his production style together with Tape B’s hip-hop and bass influences once again.

Red Rocks, Mission Ballroom and What Comes Next

The release comes during a major period for both artists on the live side. Tape B is coming off the Summer Program amphitheater co-headline tour with Levity, which moved more than 63,000 tickets across the run and included multiple sellouts. His recent run has also included collaborations with Subtronics, Zeds Dead and GRiZ, with two upcoming nights at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado among his next headline dates.

Effin, meanwhile, has spent 2026 playing Electric Forest, Bonnaroo, GRIZTRONICS at The Gorge, FVDED In The Park, VELD, Elements, Das Energi, Breakaway, Lost Lands and Sacred Acre. His next major headline date will take place at Mission Ballroom in Denver on January 16, 2027, marking his largest headline show to date.

Speaking about “I’ll Never Know,” Tape B said the track marks their third collaboration since early 2025, following “Ups and Downs” and their “Back to Black” remix. He added that the track has become a highlight of his recent tour sets and fits naturally into his upcoming debut album.

With “I’ll Never Know”, Tape B and Effin add another original release to a collaboration that has continued across the past two years. The single also leads into Tape B’s debut album Ghost in the Static, while both artists move into another run of headline shows, festival appearances and new music.

deadmau5 takes over Red Rocks for Halloween on October 30 and 31 with two special shows and the return of mau5hop

For more than 15 years, deadmau5 has returned to Red Rocks Amphitheatre each fall, with the Colorado venue becoming a regular part of his seasonal live shows. This year, that tradition reaches a new point as he performs at Red Rocks on Halloween itself for the first time, with DEADMAU5 HALLOWEEN taking place on October 30 and 31. The two-night event will feature VOWWS, joined by Josh Freese and Danny Lohner, alongside special visuals, selections from deadmau5’s catalogue and new music. The weekend will also include the return of the mau5hop pop-up in Denver, with exclusive merchandise, collectibles and meet-and-greet sessions across both days.

VOWWS Joins deadmau5 For The Halloween Shows

VOWWS will join deadmau5 across the two nights, with Josh Freese and Danny Lohner also part of the performance. The Australian-born, Los Angeles-based duo of Matt James and Rizz have long worked across darker alternative and electronic sounds, with previous collaborations involving Gary Numan, Chino Moreno and Chelsea Wolfe.

Josh Freese, whose credits include A Perfect Circle, Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails and The Vandals, also appears on VOWWS’ latest album I’ll Fill Your House With An Army. Danny Lohner, known for his work with Nine Inch Nails and The Black Queen, will join the duo at Red Rocks as part of the expanded live lineup.

What deadmau5 Has Planned For Halloween

The October 30 and 31 shows will feature special Halloween visuals alongside selections from deadmau5’s catalogue and new music. Attendees are also being encouraged to come in costume across both nights.

The shows add a new chapter to deadmau5’s long history at Red Rocks, where his fall appearances have become a regular fixture over more than 15 years. He was back at the venue in 2025 for Day of the Dead, where he debuted new music and parts of a new touring production.

That period has continued into 2026 with ‘Science’ featuring Stevie Appleton, his first vocal single since ‘My Heart Has Teeth’. The track later reached No. 1 on US Dance Radio and also entered Billboard Dance/Mixshow Airplay and Canada CHR/Top 40.

mau5hop Returns For Halloween Weekend

The Halloween weekend will also include the return of mau5hop in Denver, opening on October 30 and 31 at 95 S Cherokee Street. The pop-up will run from 11:00 AM–6:00 PM each day with specialty merchandise, limited-edition apparel, pins and collectibles not available online or at the shows.

deadmau5 and friends are also due to appear for meet-and-greets and signings from 12:00 PM–3:00 PM on both days.

With the Red Rocks shows and mau5hop both returning across Halloween weekend, this year’s edition adds more around a tradition that has already become closely tied to deadmau5 and the venue. The biggest difference in 2026 is simple: for the first time, one of those shows will actually fall on Halloween night.

With VOWWS, Josh Freese and Danny Lohner joining the shows, new music expected and mau5hop returning to Denver, DEADMAU5 HALLOWEEN has plenty planned across the weekend. Limited tickets remain for both nights at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, with more from deadmau5 also expected in the months ahead.

BETH Turns Up the Energy With New Single ‘Wait’

Scottish producer BETH returns on The Cross Records with new single Wait, following a breakout 2026 of festival slots, Ibiza dates and Radio 1 support.

In the space of a year, BETH has gone from respected up and comer to a genuine festival act. Her debut on The Cross Records, “Keep It Movin’,” is closing in on 1 million streams, and she’s kept up a steady run of releases on labels like TSHA’s Jackfruit, Eats Everything’s Edible, and Melon Bomb Records, along with a well received remix of Karen Harding’s “Island.” That output has earned her support on BBC Radio 1, with plays from Sarah Story and Arielle Free.

Her live schedule has kept pace too. This year she’s played TRNSMT Festival, Sub Club, Cabaret Voltaire, and SWG3 in Scotland, Mas Que Nada in London, and Lakota in Bristol, plus Ibiza dates at Hï, Cova Santa, and Pikes.

“Wait” marks a step forward in her production. Where “Keep It Movin'” leaned into sultry, harmonic melodies, “Wait” goes bigger and brighter, built around euphoric piano chords, a driving 90s inspired break, and deep reese bass. It’s a feel good summer record from an artist whose rise shows no signs of slowing down.
