Tiësto Hints Return To Trance Music
Tiësto hints at a return to trance music, teasing a new ID and classic logo. He will perform a full trance set at Dreamstate Socal this weekend.
A few days ago, Tiësto removed all posts from his Instagram account and updated his profile picture with a new logo similar to the one used during his trance period. After sparking speculation among fans, he followed up with a video hinting a release this Friday. The audio of the reel seems to be the potential new ID, which has hypnotic vocals and a very trance sounding lead.

If this really marks Tiësto’s return to trance music, then the timing couldn’t be better. The Dutch icon will headline Dreamstate Socal this Saturday with a full-on trance set.
This will be the second time this year the DJ returns to his roots, following his ‘In Search Of Sunrise’ performance at EDC Las Vegas in May.
The set mainly consisted of trance classics and exceeded expectations, leaving fans eager for more from the godfather of EDM.
Tiësto Since Leaving Trance Music
Tiësto’s transition towards a more commercial sound happened gradually, experimenting new sounds as the EDM landscape evolved.
The legend has a rich musical background, having produced anything from BigRoom, progressive house and tech-house, to melodic techno and afro-house more recently.
In 2014 he opened about why he decided to leave trance behind saying: “It’s nice to be in touch with the new kids that are coming up, like the 16, 18 year olds who are making house music and they see me as a kind of godfather.”
“If I want to be the trance DJ, they would’ve been so disconnected with that sound that I wouldn’t be that much inspiration for them and vice versa,” added Tiësto.
Since moving to a more commercial sound, the DJ has released several chart-topping hits, achieving 32 songs with over 100 million streams.
‘The Business’ remains his most streamed record to date. Released back in 2020, it has over 1 billion streams on Spotify and reached No.1 across several international charts.
Now, it seems like it’s time for Tiësto to bring back the sound that he made a name with. Sign up for the latest updates from Tiësto via this link.
