WhereIsFenix releases 18-track debut album Curiosity across three chapters on Legacy System

WhereIsFenix has released his debut album Curiosity through his own label, Legacy System. Released on October 16, 2026, the album features 18 tracks divided across three chapters and draws from House, Minimal, Electronica, Jazz and Deep House. Robert Owens, Patrick Mason, Dantiez Saunderson and Boris Werner also appear across the project. Curiosity is the first full-length album released through Legacy System, with a vinyl edition planned.

Inside the Three Chapters of Curiosity

The first chapter, Wander Where Wonder Wanders, explores stripped-back rhythms, leftfield textures and club music. Interludes continue directly into the tracks, allowing the first part of the album to play without clear breaks between each piece. House remains present throughout, alongside percussion, found sounds and more experimental production.

Chapter II, Motion Not Wasted, takes the album further into club music while keeping much of the production intentionally raw. The chapter includes more physical dancefloor tracks alongside selections that move away from the most obvious choices. This gives the middle section a different character from the more exploratory opening chapter.

The final chapter, Sueños y Memorias, introduces Deep House alongside personal recordings and voices connected to people and places in WhereIsFenix’s life. Those details give the closing part of the album a more personal direction while maintaining its connection to House. The chapter also gives more context to the memories and experiences referenced throughout Curiosity.

Robert Owens, Patrick Mason and More Feature on the Album

The collaborators across Curiosity represent different generations of House and underground electronic music. Robert Owens, whose career reaches back to the formative years of House, appears alongside Patrick Mason and Dantiez Saunderson. Dutch DJ and producer Boris Werner also features on the album.

Their appearances reflect the different periods and communities that have influenced WhereIsFenix over the years. Established House names are placed alongside artists from a newer generation, giving the album links to both the genre’s history and its current scene. The collaborations also fit into the wider three-chapter concept instead of feeling separate from the rest of the record.

The Personal History Behind Curiosity

Born in Queens and now based in Milan, WhereIsFenix draws from several parts of his own background across Curiosity. His father is Argentine and comes from Esquina, Corrientes, while his mother is Colombian and comes from Bogotá. Personal recordings, voices and memories appear throughout the album, becoming especially prominent during Sueños y Memorias.

His years spent in New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Berlin, Detroit and Milan have also influenced the music across the project. The album does not treat those cities as separate tributes or individual stories. Their influence instead appears through percussion, recordings, club music and the different styles heard across the three chapters.

While making Curiosity, WhereIsFenix kept his DJ appearances limited and played a number of unannounced shows. Much of his attention went into completing the album and continuing his work through Legacy System. The finished record now becomes his first full-length project as well as the label’s first album release.

More Chapters Will Follow

These first three chapters are only the beginning of the wider Curiosity project, with WhereIsFenix planning additional chapters through Legacy System. The open-ended concept gives him space to continue adding new music without treating the current 18 tracks as the final part of the idea. It also gives the debut album a clear connection to future releases through the label.

WhereIsFenix has explained that Curiosity came from reaching a point where he stopped looking for his place within the scene and began creating his own musical world. That thinking can be heard across the three chapters through club tracks, personal recordings, collaborations and references to his own history. Each chapter approaches those ideas differently while remaining part of the same debut project.

Curiosity is available now via Beatport and Traxsource, with a vinyl edition also planned.
