Born in the heart of the pandemic, ¿PorQuéNo? was founded in 2022 by three Canadian friends who had relocated to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Immersed in the underground dance music culture of nearby Tulum—where the world flocked during lockdown for freedom, nature, and spiritual connection—they were inspired to capture and recreate that once-in-a-lifetime magic.

What started as a passion project in the jungle quickly evolved into a cross-border movement. Since its inception, ¿PorQuéNo? has produced three festivals in Tulum (including its flagship event every January 3rd & 4th), one in Playa del Carmen, and ten Tulum-themed events across Canada in cities like Ottawa, Vancouver, and Toronto.

This August, the magic continues, bringing the full Tulum Festival Experience to Canada’s three major cities:
