1001Tracklists Unveils Top 101 Producers 2021 Ranking!

The Top 101 Producers are here and there’s no denying the impact that Brazilian DJ/producer Vintage Culture has made on the electronic music scene. Delivering what many consider to be the remix of the year with his take on ‘Love Tonight’, he’s impressed with releases on iconic house music labels like Defected Records alongside dance crossovers on Spinnin’ Records. Remixing artists from Tiësto to Claptone to RÜFÜS DU SOL, Vintage Culture’s sound has truly reached all corners of the globe and his rise to worldwide stardom is well on its way.

Twenty-seven countries are represented in this year’s rankings, with the United Kingdom and the Netherlands totaling nearly 40% of the artists present. Australia, Brazil, France, Italy, Germany, Russia, and the United States each had strong contingents, while one artist from each of the following countries made up the rankings: Canada, Colombia, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, and Venezuela.

Coming in at #2 is 2019’s champion David Guetta. His trademarked Future Rave sound has continued to pave the way for him as well as close friend and collaborator MORTEN who moved up in the rankings to #20.

This year’s Top 5 is completed by Kryder, Armin van Buuren, and one of the highest ever all-time first entrants, John Summit, who has taken the dance music community by storm with his infectious personality and signature Tech House grooves.

2021 features 33 artists making their first appearance in the Top 101 Producers as well as 8 artists re-entering the rankings. After John Summit, the next highest first-time entrants are GUZ at #11, KREAM at #13, Malarkey at #21, and Bleu Clair at #22. Several of last year’s artists in the rankings made big moves this year. The artist who rose the most is AVIRA, up 63 spots from last year into #35 in 2021. Armand van Helden rose 59 places, KC Lights increased his placement by 50, and MARTEN HØRGER climbed 49 spots.

In order to take a step towards greater change and empowerment, 1001Tracklists have simultaneously published ‘The Future Of Dance’ list featuring 60 women and POC artists alongside the Top 101 Producers. Hand-selecting artists from across the globe, these artists’ productions have also been important in defining the sounds of the electronic music world in the past 12 months and will pave the path ahead.

Together with Whoa! Promo, VIRPP, and Select Radio, 1001Tracklists also launched ‘The Future Of Dance’ initiative to empower new women and POC producers with the hopes of seeing more of these underrepresented artists shine on the biggest stages. For eligible artists, you can submit your demos at https://virpp.com/contests/212 and have the opportunity to win professional mix & mastering, DJ promo & radio servicing for your productions, radio show residencies, and additional exposure.

The Top 101 Producers celebratory event will take place on Wednesday, October 13th in Amsterdam, with award presentations, live-streamed sets, and surprise guests! A loaded lineup complete with a diverse range of sounds will be showcasing their biggest tracks of the year and fresh IDs for the crowd and for those at home tuned in on the YouTube and Twitch live stream.
