11 Reasons To Extended Your Festival Season!

It might be the end of summer soon but that doesn’t mean there isn’t lots of musical fun to be had. Festivals all over the world take us through the winter months so get your passport out and get planning. Here are some of the best of them.

Timewarp
28-29 October
Germany

There is no other techno gathering quite like Timewarp. It happens all over the world but its spiritual home is in Germany and it is famous for its next-level production as well as vast line-ups of talents from across the ages. Adam Beyer, Kobosil, Loco Dice, Richie Hawtin, Solomun, Maceo Plex, Sven Vath, and plenty of others line up this year.

Mexico

This one is all about celebrating music with the famous Mexican festival Day of the Dead. It was a real success last year with 200o dancers and SET‘s famously bright and colourful production. Expect more of the same this year with all the madness of the iconic Mexican celebration adding to it with names like Adam Ten, Damon Jee, Denis Horvat, Dramian, Frankey and Sandrino, Gab Rhome, Glowal, Jan Blomqvist, Kawas, and more.

Rebel Rave
8th of Oct
Brussels

Following former thrilling visits in Brussels with 30.000 ravers, Kompass Klub launches a new edition of Rave Rebels in the Belgian capital at the Brussels Expo. Expect an extraterrestrial atmosphere of thousands of kindred spirits from 19:30 onwards and for the first time ever, in two rooms. A rare techno experience for sure with Paula Temple, Mall Grab, Ellen Allien, Solomun, Héctor Oaks, Joris Voorn, and more

MDLBeast

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

There is nothing in the region as big as this celebration. It has stages that are out of this world with production that is truly brain boggling. The music covers many different genres with local heroes and international stars alike.  

Rakastella

The Life and Death and Innervisions collaborative party Rakastella is all about love—love for music, love for one another, love for exotic locations, and the unpredictable magic that occurs when good people dance to cultured sounds. It has multiple stages that all have their own unique visual identity and diverse DJs from all corners of the underground. In the past the likes of Ben UFO, Jayda G, Eris Drew, Octo Octa, DJ Harvey have all played. 

Beyond Wonderland
Nov 5th
Monterrey, Mexico

Head down to Mexico this November and you’ll be in for a real treat as Insomniac and OCESA magic up a world-class lineup of heavyweight dance music icons. The setting is an immersive and escapist heaven with an Alice in Wonderland theme so expect mind-bending art installations, colorful characters, and incredible stage designs with world-class music.

Art With Me Miami
Nov 26th – 27th

Art and music collide in Miami over Thanksgiving weekend with the arrival of Art With Me. Started in 2018 in Tulum, Mexico, Art With Me will come stateside this November with visual art installations and an eclectic mix of music. Expect names like Rome, Birds of Mind, Maga, Isiah Martin, Ameme, and more.

Groove Cruise
Jan 19th – 23rd
Miami, FL

January 19th  sees Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas sail for the 34th time in 19 years and now with $120 million in amplified upgrades and luxurious onboard amenities. These include a world-class dining experience with over 12 restaurants and bars like a high-end steakhouse, hibachi and sushi, Italian, a sports bar and arcade, Johnny Rockets, Starbucks, and more. As always there will be 96 hours non stop music from more than 60 acts as the ship sails the high seas.

Tamarindo, Costa Rica

Inviting electronic music fans to join them as they celebrate the creative and communal powers of music, Ocaso is all about creating a unified, single-stage experience, and thus only puts on one performance at a time

Terminal V

Edinburgh, Scotland

Only the biggest and best names in techno play this one because it is such an esteemed event and this year they incude Richie Hawtin, Reinier Zonneveld (live), Loco Dice, Fjaak (Live), Ellen Allien, Camelphat, Mind Against, Klankuenstler, Mama Snake, Nicole Moudaber and more. It happens in a vast space, Royal Highland Centre, with tens of names, multiple stages, production to blow the mind and 10,000 people in attendance. Super stuff.

SXM
March 8 – 12 2023
Happy Bay, St Martin

SXM is now already well established and for good reason – it has a perfect location, well-curated soundtrack, and a crowd who keep on coming back. They do so because there are few events as stunning as this one and they come from all over the USA, Europe, and even further afield. The setting for all this is a real Caribbean paradise and in there past the nikes of Audiofly, Ricardo Villalobos, Marco Carola, Raresh, and more have all played.
