Over the weekend, the magnificent second edition of Tomorrowland – Around the World, the digital festival, took place on the magical island of Pāpiliōnem. With 35 hours of music, 955 different tracks, and 119 unreleased IDs, the two-day digital music festival experience welcomed the most spectacular group of entertainers in the universe ‘The Amicorum Spectaculum’, while the People of Tomorrow from all corners of the globe united again as one in one place – celebrating the spectacle of friendship. SHOUSE’s anthemic hit ‘Love Tonight’ turned out to be the most played track at Tomorrowland – Around the World 2021, having people on their feet with numerous sizzling remixes & versions.
More than 40 of the world’s most prominent artists in electronic dance music, including Afrojack, Alan Walker, Amelie Lens, Armin van Buuren, Charlotte de Witte, Kölsch, Lost Frequencies, Nicky Romero, Tale Of Us, Vintage Culture, and many more, performed their newest tracks across 6 mesmerizing digital stages, combined with spectacular special effects and astonishing 3D-technology and video production.
Armin van Buuren: “Tomorrowland has given this gift to the fans to say to everybody: it’s going to be all right – soon we’ll be dancing together again. Also, to keep you up to date with the music, because it seems like there’s no COVID-19 if you look online at the amount of music that’s still being dropped… And I think that the music deserves it – to be played out. So that’s why I’m glad Tomorrowland – Around the World is here.”
Charlotte de Witte: “Doing this takes me back to what I love doing the most. And it clearly makes me look forward to doing it again with a crowd around, which is what we all want, right? I’ve played a bunch of unreleased tracks, not only from myself, but also tracks from other artists that I’m going to release on my label KNTXT. I just tried to bring a high-energy set, it’s going from 132 BPM to 138 BPM. So, it’s going a bit faster and is evolving a little. There’s also a special collaboration in there – a remix collaboration! And two new tracks that will get released on my label. There is also a new track of myself that I played, which will get released later in 2021. A lot of exciting stuff!”
Tale Of Us: “We have a very deep connection with the Atmosphere stage. We are very glad to have a good collaboration with Tomorrowland, because they really let us express our whole Afterlife vision. We can really work together on every aspect of the stage with our team and Tomorrowland’s team. The connection is very fast, professional, fun. We really know everything that is happening both for the physical festival and the digital one. We think it’s a unique collaboration that is only possible with this connection.”
Amelie Lens: “This was the first time I played the CORE stage. I played a lot of unreleased music that comes out on my label LENSKE and also on EXHALE records.”
Nicky Romero: “It felt so good to be back on stage. I really had no idea what to expect from today. And even though this was a recording of a live stream, it didn’t feel like that because of the amazing production. I was also interested to see how many calories I was burning, haha! I know that my resting heart rate is somewhere between 55 and 60. When I was on stage, I saw it peaked at 128/130. That means I was working hard!”
