Summertime Sadness (Cedric Gervais Remix) – Lana Del Rey
The original track was released in 2012 on Lana Del Rey’s ‘Born To Die’ album and saw very good chart success as it would reach number one in Poland, Ukraine and Armenia. However, it was the following year where the track would take on a whole new life as a massive house hit when Cedric Gervais put his spin on it. The remix was a huge success for both Gervais and Del Rey as it became Lana Del Rey’s highest ever charting track in the US reaching number 6 and earned her much more worldwide recognition. Meanwhile Gervais would earn a Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording in 2014 for his take on the song.
Sky Full of Stars (Hardwell Remix) – Coldplay
‘Sky Full Of Stars’ already had some EDM genes in it with Avicii producing the track, though it was Hardwell that turned this beautiful ballad into one of the best festival anthems of all time. He effortlessly blended his big room house style with this very heartfelt and emotional piece of music to create an unforgettable masterpiece that can amp up hundreds of thousands of people while hitting them right in the feels.
Pompeii (Audien Remix) – Bastille
Back at the start of 2014 Audien was still relatively unknown, but by the end of the year his name was inescapable. After releasing his remix of ‘Pompeii’ on Soundcloud in January, it absolutely took off and became the most played song at both Electric Daisy Carnival and Coachella that year. The song oozes mainstage festival energy with a wonderfully uplifting feel to it that earned Audien the respect and attention he deserved, and it has now gone on receive over 40 million streams on Spotify.
Can’t Feel My Face (Martin Garrix Remix) – The Weeknd
It’s rare to see Martin Garrix release remixes nowadays but in first half of the 2010s he was pumping them out with the standout being his crowd bouncing remix of The Weeknd’s ‘Can’t Feel My Face.’ This song was always a highlight of his sets that helped to propel Garrix to stardom as the following year he would go to number 1 on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ’s list. Since its release the track has received over 65 million streams on Spotify.
American Boy (Brooks Remix) – Estelle, Kanye West
Brooks has made a long list of amazing remixes including his take on ‘Scared To Be Lonely’ and recently remixing Martin Garrix’s new song ‘Told You So.’ But, undoubtably one of his best came back in 2019 when he threw his talents at the absolute classic ‘American Boy’ by Estelle and Kanye West. Brooks’ unique future house style took the original track to a whole new level with an energy to get crowds jumping and keep the bass thumping.
