5 Forgotten Hardwell Singles That Deserve a Second Look

Hardwell has grown a reputation for his explosive energy and innovative contributions to the EDM genre. He has released a number of tracks that have left a mark on the dance music scene. While some of his singles have achieved widespread acclaim, several standout tracks remain overlooked. Here’s a closer look at five forgotten Hardwell singles that deserve more attention.

1. Three Triangles (2014)

Released in April 2014, “Three Triangles (Losing My Religion)” was a powerful collaboration between Hardwell and fellow DJs, W&W. This track took inspiration from the classic hit “Losing My Religion” by R.E.M., blending its iconic melody with a high-energy, modern EDM twist. Despite its promising concept and strong support during live sets, “Three Triangles” did not achieve the commercial success anticipated. Its unique blend of melodic elements with festival-ready beats should not be overlooked, as it showcases Hardwell’s ability to integrate classic themes into contemporary dance music.

2. Blackout (2015)

In March 2015, Hardwell dropped “Blackout,”a collaboration with the Dutch DJ duo, MAKJ. This track delivered a punch with its high-octane energy and explosive drops. Although “Blackout” was well-received within the DJ community and at festivals, it did not capture the mainstream attention one might expect. Its high-energy synths and heavy bass make it a noteworthy example of Hardwell’s prowess in creating festival anthems, demonstrating a darker, more intense side of his production style.

3. Wake Up Call (2016)

Wake Up Call“, released in January 2016, featured the vocals of American singer and songwriter, Krewella. This track had all the elements of a potential hit: an infectious chorus and a blend of Hardwell’s signature big-room sound with Krewella’s energetic vocals. Despite this, the track did not make as significant an impact as other Hardwell releases of the time. Its upbeat, catchy nature and strong vocal performance make it a standout track that reflects Hardwell’s ability to craft memorable collaborations.

4. Kicking It Hard (2017)

Released in October 2017, “Kicking It Hard” was a collaboration between Hardwell and Australian DJ/producer, Timmy Trumpet. The track, known for its vibrant trumpet melody and energetic beats, showcased Hardwell’s versatility in experimenting with different sounds and styles. Although the track resonated well with fans of both artists, it didn’t gain the same level of mainstream recognition as some of their other tracks. Its distinct blend of EDM and live instrumental elements makes it a unique entry in Hardwell’s discography.

5. Go To War (2018)

Go To War,” released in September 2018, was Hardwell’s final single before taking a break from touring. Featuring a powerful, anthemic sound and driving beats, the track was a fitting farewell to his active performing phase. Despite its impactful release and high-energy production, “Go To War” did not achieve the widespread acclaim anticipated. Its raw energy and compelling build-up exemplify Hardwell’s ability to craft dramatic, festival-ready tracks, and it stands as a testament to his influence in the EDM scene before his short-lived hiatus.
