Avicii – Levels
After releasing hits such as ‘Seek Bromance’ and ‘Fade Into Darkness’, the pressure was on for emerging talent Avicii to follow them up with another high-quality release. Although expectations were high and many were expecting another smash hit, very few could have imagined for ‘Levels’ to reach the heights that it did. Becoming one of the most streamed tracks in electronic dance music history, ‘Levels’ took over the electronic and radio scene instantly, gaining over 1 billion streams in the process. This single was released on the 28th of October, 2011.
Hardwell – Cobra
Following on from hit singles ‘Encoded’, ‘The World’, and ‘Beta’ together with fellow Dutchman Nicky Romero, Hardwell continued his meteoric rise to fame in late 2011 with the release of ‘Cobra’. ‘Cobra’ was a more than worthy successor to all previous chart-stormers, kicking in with a big chord theme and building an explosive amount of tension — till it all breaks and the climax unfolds an electro bassline monster, unexpected but fierce and powerful just like a ‘Cobra’. The track’s finale lets all elements come together, making ‘Cobra’ a sure-shot at dance floor damage. This single was released on the 10th of October, 2011.
Bingo Players – Rattle
After releasing the infectious ‘Cry (Just A Little)’ which received over 35 million online streams, Bingo Players took it to the next level with the release of ‘Rattle’. A massive dance anthem which gained over 150 million online streams along with receiving playtime on the world’s biggest stages, ‘Rattle’ quickly became Bingo Players‘ most successful single before the passing of member Paul Bäumer. This release celebrates its birthday on the 18th of October.
Coldplay – Paradise (Fedde Le Grand Remix)
First premiered by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1; the anticipation for Fedde le Grand‘s remix of this chart-topping single ‘Paradise’ by Coldplay was through the roof. Taking the original track and turning it into a main room anthem with melodic goodness, Fedde le Grand turned up the heat for this remix, leaving all fans of electronic dance music happy in the making. This single was released on the 17th of October, 2011.
Basto – Again And Again
Rewind back to 2011 as Basto released the official follow-up to his massive world wide sensation ‘Gregory’s Theme’. In true Basto style, this track was one of a king and left you humming the melody all day long after hearing it. Proving to be a bigger hit than it’s predecessor, ‘Again And Again’ reached new heights for the Belgian as it hit over 20 million streams on its music video. This single was released on the 3rd of October, 2011.
