5 Tracks You Won’t Believe Were Released 9 Years Ago!

“Antidote” – Swedish House Mafia & Knife Party
The only time, under their official name as a trifecta, that Swedish House Mafia got together to create a single with other artists did not disappoint. The Swedish supergroup came together with hard-hitting electro duo Knife Party for an anthem that has stood the test of time. Still 8 years on, this electro house banger has proved to still be a killer production, being one of the high points of Swedish House Mafia‘s recent live shows.

“Internet Friends” – Knife Party
Proving their star power as a duo, Knife Party had a killer year in 2011 with the release of the previously mentioned ‘Antidote’. Before that starstudded collab dropped, Knife Party released ‘Internet Friends’. This single would go on to take over the festival scene with every DJ dropping it in their live sets to make to the crowd go wild, most notably Hardwell at UMF 2012.

“Toulouse” – Nicky Romero
Rewind back to 2011 when a relatively unknown Nicky Romero returned on Spinnin’ Records to deliver a banger that would prove to be his biggest hit yet. A groovy bassline with a catchy lead that slowly progressed into a heavy-hitting powerful drop. Support on this came from every artist across the globe, helping Nicky Romero become a mainstay in the electronic dance music scene to this day.

“Kick Out The Epic Motherf**ker” – Dada Life
“Heyyyyyy, hooooo” – a chant still repeated by crowds across the world to this day. Some say Dada Life brought this to the EDM scene and it has never left since. Featuring powerful bass lines and a raw pulsating topline, ‘Kick Out The Epic Motherf**ker’ received over 50 million online streams and has proved to be Dada Life‘s most successful single since their formation as a duo.

“Bangarang” – Skrillex
With the rise of dubstep came the emergence of American producer Skrillex. Used as the poster boy for dubstep, Skrillex released some of his most influential singles towards the beginning of his career, most notably ‘Bangarang’. Featuring the iconic chopped bass synths and infectious vocal samples, this single skyrocketed in the charts, helping Skrillex in his mission for global domination.
