6 Tracks You Won’t Believe Were Released 8 Years Ago!

Hardwell and W&W – Jumper
The Revealed Recordings boss and boundary-pushing producer, Hardwell, teamed up alongside his fellow Dutchmen, W&W, for the very first time in 2013. Paired together while touring, they came together and created a summer festival anthem that was heard on main stages, clubs, and everywhere in between. Hardwell, alongside W&W, unraveled yet another anonymous highlight from his landmark Ultra Music Festival set back in March of 2013. As you would expect from the union of two undisputed titans of the Dutch house overhaul, ‘Jumper’ brings three of the nation’s most capable young club advocates together for a new and powerful precedent in the sound of modern dance music. A grinding electro anthem dealing in bursts of subtle melodic euphoria, ‘Jumper’ keeps the adrenaline high from start-to-finish. The track not only emphasizes the leaps and bounds both Hardwell and W&W have taken over the years, but also the unprecedented stamina still found in Revealed‘s ascent of the peak time skyline. One things for certain — this was an anthem with digital market domination written all over it. This single turns 8 years old on the 5th of August.

Steve Angello vs Matisse & Sadko – SLVR
After the split-up of Swedish House Mafia in March of 2013, Steve Angello took it upon himself to once again launch his solo career with the iconic collab ‘SLVR’ alongside Matisse & Sadko. Proving that he hasn’t missed a beat since his previous releases ‘Lights’, ‘Yeah’, and ‘H8RS’ in 2012, Steve Angello combined with Matisse & Sadko in a way very few artists can. Perfectly blending their signature styles together, ‘SLVR’ uses a memorable and uplifting melody and combines it with main stage sounds to really drive home the energy. This collab turns 8 years old on the 12th of August.

Showtek ft. We Are Loud & Sonny Wilson – Booyah
Showtek
came back on Spinnin’ Records with a super innovative release in 2013. ‘Booyah’ takes inspiration from raggamuffin infused drum & bass and dirty electro to create a highly explosive concoction. With Sonny Wilson on the vocals and We Are Loud on co-production, ‘Booyah’ was set to destroy dance floors and it did just that, gaining over 30 million online streams in the process. This anthem turns 8 years old on the 19th of August.

DVBBS & Borgeous – TSUNAMI
Hype, anticipation, and discussion were the order of the day when the teaser for ‘Tsunami’  appeared online. No artist ID was given so heavy discussion followed regarding who produced this track and where did it come from. It was shortly revealed that newcomers DVBBS and Borgeous came together to create ‘Tsunami’. Receiving help from KSHMR as a co-producer, ‘Tsunami’  took over the festival scene and became a must-use track in many headlining DJ’s sets. re Loud on co-production, ‘Booyah’ was set to destroy dance floors and it did just that, gaining over 30 million online streams in the process. This iconic big room track turns 8 years old on the 19th of August.

Major Lazer – Watch Out For This (Bumaye) [Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike Tomorrowland Remix]
Belgian superstars Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike turned the heat up to boiling point just in time for the summer season in 2013 as their massive take on Major Lazer‘s ‘Watch Out For This’ got ready to drop across the planet. Already riding high after the huge success of their two back-to-back Beatport #1 tracks (‘Turn It Up’ / ‘Mammoth’) and Swedish House Mafia anthem ‘Wakanda’, the duo dove straight back into their love of African-inspired beats and vocals. Keeping the sun-soaked bump’n’grind of Lazer‘s original cut, Dimitri and Mike still give proceedings their trademark main room sound, delivering an edit that you know full well is going to feature heavily across this year’s international festival circuit. re Loud on co-production, ‘Booyah’ was set to destroy dance floors and it did just that, gaining over 30 million online streams in the process. This remix turns 8 years old on the 19th of August.

Steve Aoki, Chris Lake & Tujamo – Boneless
Often described as this trio’s most successful single to date, ‘Boneless’ by Steve Aoki, Chris Lake, and Tujamo truly took over the electronic dance music scene in 2013. Although this trio had never combined in the studio before, they came together to cook up a bomb that has still been featured in some of the biggest DJs sets in years to come. Gaining over 100 million streams, this single catapulted all acts involved onto another level. re Loud on co-production, ‘Booyah’ was set to destroy dance floors and it did just that, gaining over 30 million online streams in the process.
