8 EDM Festivals You Must Attend In October

After a great September to kick off the amber festival season, October is here and we’ve teamed up with FestGPS.app to bring you the top 8 EDM festivals that you cannot miss this month.

1. Tomorrowland Brasil – Sao Paulo, Brazil (11-13 October)

The most iconic EDM festival in the world, Tomorrowland, is making its way to Sao Paulo for its fourth edition of Tomorrowland Brasil. Lineup looks insane with names such as Axwell, Armin Van Buuren, Vintage Culture, Hardwell and many other famous international DJs making their way to Itu, Sao Paulo for three crazy days packed of full energy in Parque Maeda.

Bringing back the mainstage of Tomorrowland Belgium 2023, there will be five stages present at the festival grounds, including the impressive new Core stage. Dreamville will also have its own stage for The Gathering as usual.

The festival was hosted at Parque Maeda in Itu, São Paulo for the first time in 2015 and again in 2016. Due to financial difficulties, it was put on hold until 2023, when it returned after a six-year break. After an incredible 20th anniversary in Belgium this summer, Tomorrowland will once more bring its magic to the Latin American lands, welcoming over 180,000 ravers to the mecca of electronic dance music.

Tickets to only the festival (excluding Dreamville accomodation) start at R$1,650.00 / €271.81 and tickets that include Dreamville accomodation and access to The Gathering start at R$2,230.00 / €367.35. 2. Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) – Amsterdam, Netherlands (16-20 October)

Every year for five days and nights, Amsterdam becomes the capital of electronic music. Amsterdam Dance Event truly collects all superstar DJs in one city, hosting some of the greatestnights, DJ shows and events of the year. With over 1,000 events taking place at more than 200 locations, labels such as STMPD Records, Dirty Workz, A State of Trance and Protocol Records will be part of this year’s ADE. Welcoming every genre of electronic music, the event is always part of an artist’s, as well as visitor’s yearly highlights. The distinctive ambience of the city itself is what adds even more specialness to Amsterdam Dance Event. Enjoy the charming neighbourhoods, old buildings, and canals as you go from one location to another.

Also present at ADE, is the Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF), brining an incredible lineup featuring Martin Garrix, Tiesto, Timmy Trumpet, Tita Lau, Showtek, Wade, Marlon Hoffstadt, Maddix and Monocule. The nine artists will take on the crowd at the Johan Cruyff Arena, bringing beats of hardstyle, tech-house, progressive house and others to one of the most anticipated festivals in the world welcoming around 50,000 ravers. Part of AMF’s schedule will also be DJ Mag’s no.1 DJ coronation.

Alongside the many events taking place at ADE, the EDM House Network team is proud to announce a partnership with EDM.com, EDMtree, and edmtrain, for a special show on October 17th. 3. iii Points – Miami, FL (18-19 October)

Located in the vibrant arts district of Wynwood, Miami, iii Points is ready to host its 11th edition featuring an amazing lineup composed of names such as: Disclosure, Justice, Vintage Culture, ISOxo and many more. Part of this lineup is also James Hype who will go b2b with Italian superstars Meduza on October 18th during the first day of the festival.

Get the party started at one of iii Points’ 8 stages and embrace your experience throughout the day with the incredible art exhibition showcasing immersive glowing environments, large scale murals and graffitis, as well as tech-art driven by futuristic themes and virtual spaces. Part of its art sector, the festival also welcomes artists showing their talent live at the grounds by creating pieces such as paintings and sculptures. As much as Miami is known for its incredible nightlife, iii Points takes it to the next level, bringing renowned artists to the Magic city and offering visitors great moments in front of 8 great stages.

4. Time Warp Mannheim – Mannheim, Germany (25-26 October)

A stellar lineup is making its way to Maimarkthalle, Mannheim for 2 days of rave at Time Warp 2D2C. Artists like &ME, Rampa, Sven Vath, Charlotte De Witte, Enrico Sangiuliano, and 15 others will bring the heat with the sounds of techno and house music.

On Friday, October 25th, Time Warp are celebrating 60 years of Sven Vath with a single floor concept of the indoor event and with legendary techno acts, as well as a b2b between &ME & Rampa. The second day of the festival will see iconic sets from Adam Beyer, Deborah de Luca, Reinier Zonneveld and other techno djs as well as current hard techno sensations Nico Moreno, TRYM and Indira Paganotto. For October 26th, a dual floor concept will in place to celebrate 30 years of Time Warp.

Germany is known to be one of the capitals of techno music, and Time Warp makes sure to create a one of a kind techno rave by installing spectacular stage designs that include innovative lighting, high production value, and crystal clear sound systems. 5. Escape Halloween – San Bernardino, CA (25-26 October)

Now for one of the most famous Halloween raves in the world, Escape Halloween is returning on the 25th and 26th of October with a stellar including AFROKI (Afrojack B2B Steve Aoki), Martin Garrix, Deadmau5, Lost Frequencies and many other superstar djs.

Making a come back this year, the festival is putting out a new layout with four stages plus a new one that will be announced soon and a 20% larger ‘The Grimm’ stage. Alongside the musical experiences, attractions will also make up the festival and two new ones are also expected, while ‘Crazy Town’ has been moved to the middle of the festival grounds to become the epicentre of chills and thrills.

Big things are expected at the 2024 edition of Escape Halloween, as the organisers announce more ‘terrors’ to be revealed in the weeks leading up to the event. Probably the Mecca of Halloween festivals, Escape welcomes up to 125,000 ravers over a weekend and spans over 120 acres, featuring 150,000 square feet of indoor event space.

6. Voyage Music Festival – Simpsonville, SC (25-26 October)

Moving over to South Carolina, Voyage Festival is coming back to CCNB Amphitheatre at Heritage Park for its third edition. The two day festival will take place on October 25th and 26th, with artists such as The Chainsmokers, NOTD, Cheat Codes, Chelsea Cutler and Wiz Khalifa ready to take on the stage. The festival’s mixture of genres will offer all visitors a little bit of everything, covering electronic, hip-hop, and pop.

A highlight of the festival is its silent disco that will draw a lot of attention as the concept has grown a lot in the past years and Voyage has announced its return to be bigger and better. The silent disco will also be a great opportunity for smaller DJs, as the stage’s lineup is made of local artists. Other great experiences the festival offers include tethered rides in hot air balloons and arts-and-crafts sessions.

Braxton Wilson, owner of the company organising the event mentioned “The response from last year was everything we could have imagined and more…We went above and beyond this year curating a lineup for all music lovers.”

Besides the multi-genre lineup, something else that differentiates Voyage from other festivals is its age limit, welcoming individuals of all ages. It is also worth mentioning that kids under three years old have free entrance.

7. Will Ferrell’s Ultimate DJ House Party – Chicago, IL (26 October)

Comedy icon Will Ferrell is hosting a ‘house party’ this October bringing some of the hottest DJs in the world to spin tunes while raising money for the Cancer for College charity. Cancer for College offers educational opportunities and need-based college scholarships to individuals who have survived cancer. Ferrell and his wife Viveca Pauling have both invested money in this special cause throughout time and all profits from the actor’s benefit gig in October will go once more towards Cancer for College.

As you read at the beginning of this paragraph, some of the hottest DJs in the world are part of Will Ferrell’s event as Chicago will dance to the beats of Swedish House Mafia, Felix Da Housecat, A-Trak, Henry Fong plus 15 other DJs with more, still to be announced. Part of the lineup is also Will Ferrell, who will play a DJ set himself and bring the comedy and energy to the stage.

Although it is called a house party, the show will take place at the Wintrust Arena, home of the Chicago Sky WNBA team, as well as DePaul University Men’s and Women’s basketball teams. A good thing to keep in mind is that doors of the arena will only be open to college students and college IDs will be checked on arrival.

8. Hocus Pocus – Miami, FL (31st October – 1st, 2nd November)

This Halloween, Miami’s Factory Town welcomes back ‘Hocus Pocus,’ the city’s spookiest festival. Showcasing incredible artists such as Artbat, Charlotte De Witte, Odd Mob, Eli Brown, Joseph Capriati and 70 other djs from the techno and house scenes, this event will bring the thrills to its guests on the dancefloor. Rave at Hocus Pocus’ four stages from sunset to sunrise and make this the most legendary Halloween weekend.

New additions to this year’s Hocus Pocus include ‘The Park’ stage which will focus on dark techno, as well as the ‘Haunted Warehouse,’ a new attraction ready to offer festival-goers a real nightmare. With a mix between music, art and attractions, the festival is expected to be another success as it hosts its fourth edition.

Speaking of success, ticket sales prove Hocus Pocus’ popularity as the event is 98% sold out and limited passes are left. If a spooky rave is on your list then don’t lose your chance of grabbing tickets to Miami’s most mystical festival this year. General access tickets are priced at $120, while Friday and Saturday passes cost $73.89 each. Sunday only passes are the cheapest option, costing $48.90.
