Los Angeles-based producer Graves finally delivers his debut release on Thrive Music ‘Tear Me Apart’ featuring Bishu. ‘Tear Me Apart’ begins with emo guitar plucks layered underneath BISHU‘s dreary, layered vocals. The energy then picks up, ascending into a minimal drop that perfectly mixes shimmering synths and banging drums. It’s a blend of genres that is rarely touched, but on ‘Tear Me Apart’, Graves shows that he’s unafraid to color outside of the lines – and talented enough to pull it off.
Graves says of his collaboration with Bishu: “Drew and I just wanna keep challenging what people expect from dance music. We don’t really give a f**k what kind of box or playlist people are going to try to put us in. I’m just going to try to make the kids feel something.”
Graves began his musical career as Kanye‘s engineer for his magnum opus album ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’, which earned him a Grammy and another massive credit on the Jay Z/Kanye collab album, ‘Watch The Throne’. Since then, he’s become one of the most exciting names in bass music, known best for his blockbuster collaboration with Post Malone and Flosstradamus. Graves has toured the world with everyone from RL Grime to Baauer, and now makes his debut on Thrive with ‘Tear Me Apart’ featuring Bishu.
