Although his first official release on his Spotify dates back to 2019, Toronto-based producer and DJ Aidan Hercules has been quite active within the electronic dance music scene since 2014. Working on his own signature sound for more than 5 years, aka Hercules is ready to make 2020 his most important year yet, opening the year with his heavy and hard-hitting single ‘Mindless’. With his releases, he has firmly set himself as an emerging artist within the big room house genre, showcasing an energetic and unique style that sets him apart from the crowd. Now capitalizing on his momentum, Aidan Hercules treats us to his second release of 2020 titled ‘Rampage’.
“My latest single Rampage takes its cue from melodic instrumental harmonies, percussive club beats, and epic cinematic movie trailer music. I wanted to create something catchy, instantly recognizable, and enjoyable for everyone – sort of like the high-tempo music found in sporting events.” says Aidan Hercules “and Rampage really captures the crowd-pleasing experience of Veld, Tomorrowland, and Ultra Music Festival. Even though those events were cancelled because of the pandemic, the song takes that energy and delivers it in an epic 3-minute banger perfect for blaring from your car stereo while driving on a summer road trip” he adds.
Inspired by his love of electronic dance music and club-ready beats, ‘Rampage’ was released to capture the magic and intense energy of the summer electronic music festivals that have been recently cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. This single kicks off how we expect it, with simple yet effective drum work that sets the tone for the remainder of the single. Aidan Hercules takes no time to inject energy into the track, as 30 seconds in he builds towards the first drop. This drop hits with so much power it’s sure to get the hairs on the back of your neck to stand up. He then brings out his melodic side for the breakdown, introducing a flute-like synth that brings uniqueness to the single. Powerful synths are then introduced as Aidan Hercules takes the single to the next level, quickly heading back for the second drop. The second drop is more of the first but with subtle changes to keep the listener interested. Aidan Hercules is certainly an artist to keep a close eye on.
