Alex Von Martin Releases Infectious New Single ‘Last One Standing’ ft. Phi Lhouette on 152 Records!

A seasoned DJ and producer with twenty years of experience under his belt including club bookings all over Europe and releases on Throwin Records and No-Logik, it makes sense that London’s Alex Von Martin was snapped up by local indie label 152 Records this time last year. A skilled craftsman of progressive instrumentals with a knack for holding a listener’s attention through the use of mesmerising variation and morphing synth work, his past releases straddle the line between house and techno, utilising hypnotic four-to-the-floor kicks, warped, meandering leads and hard-hitting, percussive basslines. Having already dropped three well-received singles via 152 – the EDM-leaning Prïnceps collaboration ‘Get Away’, the dark, winding ‘Can’, and the deep, minimal ‘Hundred Voices’ – he now returns with the feel-good progressive house anthem ‘Last One Standing’ (ft. Phi Lhouette).

Opening with yelping synths, bubbling bass stabs, and a catchy, repeated spoken-word sample, the track’s burgeoning intro soon builds its way up to a heady crescendo, with the vocals taking on a garbled, bit-crushed quality as the modulated, acid house-inspired plucks take on a heavier quality and complementary harmonies flit in and out of play.
