Audio Paak returns with Fire, continuing his move from Afrobeats into a more melodic Afro House direction

Audio Paak is back with Fire, a new release on Alikoto Music Consult that continues the next chapter of his sound. After spending years working within Afrobeats, the producer and DJ is now exploring Afro House through African rhythms, melodic elements and a stronger dancefloor focus. Audio Paak Continues His Transition Into Afro House

Music has been part of Audio Paak’s life from an early age, with DJing entering the picture when he was just nine years old. That background later led him into Afrobeats, but his current direction sees him drawing more directly from Afro House while continuing to reference the African rhythms and cultural influences that have shaped his work.

The shift is not presented as a complete break from his earlier music. Instead, Audio Paak is using the new project to expand on what came before, combining his existing background with more melodic production and a different approach to dance music. Fire becomes the latest example of that progression as he develops the sound further through Alikoto Music Consult.

Inside the Production of Fire

A bouncy kick and shuffling percussion form the foundation of Fire, giving the track a steady rhythmic base before the melodic elements begin to develop. Synth progressions gradually fill out the production, while an expressive female vocal brings warmth to the arrangement and carries the main hook.

Layered vocal textures add another dimension as the track develops, supported by a lead arpeggiator, pulsing synth lines and sustained pads. Grittier textures appear around those softer elements, giving Fire contrast without pulling attention away from its melodic centre.

A New Chapter for Audio Paak

With Fire, Audio Paak continues exploring the space between his Afrobeats background and the Afro House sound he is now pursuing. His approach draws from African rhythmic traditions while placing them within a contemporary electronic production style, giving him room to develop this new side of the project without disconnecting it from his earlier work.

Released through Alikoto Music Consult, Fire is out now and available to stream and download on Beatport and listen on Spotify. The track also gives a clearer indication of where Audio Paak is heading next as he continues developing his Afro House sound.
