A new year comes with new ambitions, resolutions, and projects. 2023 arrived and Avi Sic is ready to share what she has in store for the coming months. We sat down with her to talk more about what her plans are for the new year.
Hey, 2023 is here and we’d like to know what are your hopes for this year regarding your music career?
My hope is to reach as many new listeners as possible and also maintain a connection with my current fanbase.
What are your top 3 resolutions for this new year?
To release new music every month for the duration of 2023. Work on myself mentally and physically. Do my personal best and not compare that to others.
Do you have any releases in the pipelines for the upcoming months?
I have 3 original tracks scheduled for release in the first few months of the new year as well as a handful of remixes to put out in between the originals.
If you could pick any event, any stage, any place: where would you like to perform in 2023?
Tomorrowland would be insane.
And following on from that, if the world was your oyster for selection, who would you like to collaborate with this new year?
Yeah Yeah Yeahs or Skrillex.
Are there any new hobbies or activities you’d like to try in 2023?
Skydiving would be fun. The thought scares the hell out of me, but it would be a great fear to overcome.
Are there any new skills or new gear that you’d like to implement to your studio in 2023?
A fancier mic setup would be a great addition for my weekly radio show, Late Checkout.
From a production standpoint, what would you say is the number one area you would like/need to invest time into in order to develop your production level?
Improving my mixing skills.
Any New genres you’d like to explore next year?
Melodic Tech House.
New sub-genres come and go into fashion every year, what are your predictions for 2023?
I can see Tech House morphing into something different. Harder, faster, incorporating more EDM components or even DNB but still keeping a lot of the core elements.
Besides yourself, which artists or labels should people follow this year?
Skink (Showtek’s label) and Future Cuts (a division of Uprise Music).
Make a prediction for 2023 about the world or music and we’ll try and catch you this time next year to see if it comes true!
There will be more electronic artists making waves on the Billboard charts in 2023.
Do you have a message for your followers for the new year?
Enjoy the new year, be kind, and look out for lots of new music from me!
