Dutch DJ and producer Bakermat’s feel-good single, ‘Baianá’, is out now via premiere dance record label Ultra Records.
Blending his trademark touch of horns, distinctive dance melodies and an edit of the original Brazilian track by Barbatuques, ‘Baianá’, Bakermat has reinvented the single making it an instant dance classic. Paired with the sublime track is a music video where viewers find a beloved dog, Matt Baker, road tripping through unique destinations and riding into another adventure.
When speaking about the track, Bakermat explains, “I heard the original track by Barbatuques in Brazil, and immediately fell in love with it. I just knew I could make a really cool intro for my shows with it. After receiving loads of messages about the track after every show, and seeing a lot of support online, I decided to make an official release out of it. It’s been a while since something I made was picked up so organically and with such amazing support. Can’t wait for my fans to hear the final version!”
Within the first four months of release, ‘Baianá’ has garnered an impressive 12 million Spotify streams breaking Bakermat’s own streaming records week by week. Additionally, the music video for the track has been equally successful with roughly 9 million views on YouTube.
Beginning his music career in 2012 with debut single ‘One Day (Vandaag)’, Dutch DJ and producer Bakermat has grown into one of the most sought-out acts in dance music. Known for producing genre-bending music with a fresh and original approach, Bakermat has built an organic fanbase who have been with him since the start. Earlier this year, he teamed up with British singer-songwriter Alex Clare for their single ‘Learn to Lose’ as well as completed his 10-date US tour.
Since its release, ‘Baianá’ has seen global success and continues to reach the top of the charts.
