Daijo Delivers Full Force Of Melodic Techno With ‘In The Air’
Daijo returns with a mesmerizing new release, unveiling ‘In The Air,’ a track that seamlessly blends emotion, power, and late-night energy.
With the ability to craft an emotive, yet powerful aura to his sound design, Daijo unveils his latest single, ‘In The Air’, a stunning new release that continues his mission of crafting music that moves both body and soul. Released on July 18, 2025 via Andrew Rayel‘s Find Your Harmony label, the track delivers a hypnotic fusion of ethereal melodies, elevated frequencies and enticing vocals.
‘In The Air’ follows a string of successful releases from the Canadian/Persian producer, whose growing discography has earned support across both global stages and beyond. Known for his ability to fuse emotion with energy, Daijo’s latest work channels a sense of freedom and introspection, building on his signature sound while pushing deeper into atmospheric, late-night techno territory.
Having already tested the track during recent live performances at venues across Canada,, Daijo’s fans have had a taste of ‘In The Air’. The record has quickly become a highlight of his shows, igniting crowds with its balance of melodic intensity and a dancefloor momentum like no other.
You’ve described your music as carrying both motion and meaning. If someone had never heard of you before, which one song of yours would you play them first to tell your story — and why?
There are a few new songs I’d love to share first, but if I had to choose from what’s already released, it would be “OH LORD.” I co-wrote it with the incredible vocalist Hugo Kufambi, and it feels like a personal letter to God, honest, emotional, and a true reflection of the meaning behind my music.
Vancouver has a growing electronic scene, but also a very different vibe from European club culture. How has being based there shaped your sound compared to your early days in Hamburg?
Growing up in Europe rooted me in the dance music culture. I still remember watching the Love Parade on TV when it was in Berlin, seeing DJs like Westbam, Marusha, and Robert Miles; those moments left a lasting mark on me. You can still hear that influence in the melodies I write today. I also feel the sound is cyclical — and right now the “rave” energy is coming back, which I absolutely love.
Your tracks feel deeply personal, almost like journal entries set to melody. When you’re in the studio, how do you know a track is finished — that it says everything you need it to?
I always try to tell a story with each track. For me, a song is finished when the emotion feels real, when I listen back and it’s authentic. If it delivers the message I set out to express, that’s when I know it’s done.
How did Andrew Rayel’s Find Your Harmony label feel like the right home for “In The Air” compared to other platforms or labels you’ve released on before?
Honestly, Andrei (Andrew Rayel) just felt the track the most. We were on the same page about what “In The Air” was meant to be, so it felt like the right home. It just clicked — and I’d love to do more with his label in the future.
Dance music often thrives on instant gratification, but your songs carry patience and storytelling. Do you ever feel pressure to simplify your sound for the streaming era?
I could never simplify my music just to chase streams. It’s always been about storytelling through sound. Commercial success is nice, but it isn’t the goal; my focus is on creating music that still feels meaningful 20 or 30 years from now. Whether it reaches one new fan or a million, I’m grateful either way and humbled every time someone connects with what I’ve made.
Collaboration is such a big part of the scene. If you could create a track with an artist completely outside of dance music, who would you choose and what kind of song would you imagine?
I’d have to go with a band like Pink Floyd, haha, one can dream! I’d love to create something atmospheric and cinematic with them, blending their expansive soundscapes with my own melodic sound.
Many producers talk about their “studio rituals.” Do you have any unusual habits, objects, or routines that help you lock into the creative zone?
I like to take a few minutes to meditate and clear my mind before a session — it helps me get into the right headspace. I wouldn’t call it a ritual, exactly; it’s more about feeling ready and genuinely wanting to create in that moment.
You’ve said before that music was your escape. Today, when life gets overwhelming, do you still escape into music the same way — or has that relationship changed as it became your career?
Creating music has always been, and will always be, a great escape for me. It’s truly therapeutic, a space where I can process, reflect, and recharge no matter what’s going on in life.
Touring can sometimes blur the line between artist and person. What’s one thing fans would be surprised to know about Daijo outside of the music?
Outside of music, I love to create in other ways — one of them is cooking and BBQ. I enjoy the art of it, and some people have even told me I’m pretty good at it haha =)
You’ve hinted at working toward a full-length album — can you share what stage you’re at in the process and how it’s shaping up sonically?
I’m currently in the writing phase, focusing on both vocals and music. We’re now at the stage of deciding which tracks will make the final album. Goodbye will be the first single to be released from it.
What kind of story or theme do you hope the album tells, and how does “In The Air” fit into that bigger picture?
The album tells a story inspired by my own life. Songs like “Goodbye” explore universal experiences we all relate to. It’s meant to be a soundtrack of the human experience, where listeners can connect with the music and reflect on their own journeys.
Finally, if you could send a message to your younger self just starting out — one piece of advice that would have saved you a lot of time — what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self to trust your gut and follow your heart. Life is short, and we only get so much time — so live each moment fully. Laugh often, take care of your mental and physical health, and make the most of every opportunity. Be thankful.

Afro House and Afrobeats Unite as Lohrasp Kansara and DJ Power Breathe New Life Into Afro B’s Hit ‘Joanna’
Lohrasp Kansara “Joanna” Afro House remake lands on TH3RD BRAIN alongside Afro B and DJ Power.
There are records that simply update a song. Then there are records that fully reimagine one. Lohrasp Kansara’s new single “Joanna,” released May 29th on TH3RD BRAIN Records, belongs firmly in the second category. Built from the ground up alongside DJ Power and co-released with the original artist Afro B himself, this is not a remix of the 2018 Afrobeats global hit. Instead, it is a brand new production with a completely new identity. It is built for where Afro House and the dance floor are in 2026. For fans intrigued by the collaboration of Lohrasp Kansara, Joanna, and the surrounding contributors, this release is a must-hear.
The production centres on deep, groove-forward percussion, uplifting chord work, and a refined melodic structure. This structure takes Afro B’s beloved topline and repositions it at the crossroads of Afro House credibility and mainstream dancefloor appeal.
Breaking Down the Artist Behind the Record
To understand why this collaboration carries real weight, you need to understand where Lohrasp Kansara sits in 2026. The Swiss-born, New York-based DJ and producer has logged over 6,000 shows across 60+ countries. He has played five clubs currently ranked on the DJ Mag Top 100 and opened the year with his first headline at Marquee New York to a packed room. In addition, Pete Tong personally signed two of his singles to his imprint Places & Spaces, including “Sandstorm,” which Tong played from the Creamfields main stage. Black Coffee has ID’d eleven of his tracks across his official Spotify playlist.
“Sandstorm” peaked at number 3 and held a spot there for 209 days. His catalog has reached 175+ chart placements and 13M+ playlist reach. Moreover, it has received support from the likes of Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix, Tiësto, Dom Dolla, Adriatique, and Keinemusik, among many others. This broad global reach positions the Lohrasp Kansara and Joanna collaboration as a key moment for both artists. For fans following the rise of Lohrasp Kansara and Joanna, this collaboration marks an important milestone.
Beyond the touring and catalog, Lohrasp runs LOCO CARNAVAL, his weekly Sunday experiential party at Somewhere Nowhere NYC. He has hosted the likes of Shimza, Moojo, Awen, and Kintar there. This event is a platform that speaks to his curatorial vision as much as his artistry. It is a self-built room in one of the world’s most competitive music cities. Having a hand in unique experiences like LOCO CARNAVAL shows how Lohrasp Kansara’s creativity runs through everything he does. From Joanna to his collaborations with global artists like Afro B, his innovation is clear.
The Release and the Buzz So Far
Since its May 29th release, “Joanna” has already made early moves on Beatport. It landed on the Weekend Picks Melodic 2026: Week 22 at number 47, while currently sitting at number 67 on the overall Afro House chart. Additionally, it is at number 20 on Latest Releases: Afro House, with momentum still building. It has also picked up support from the respected editorial platform Madorasindahouse. This buzz surrounding Joanna and the rise of Lohrasp Kansara Joanna in the scene showcases a momentum that is only growing.
The live energy around the record has matched its momentum. Lohrasp ran the record across two nights at Somewhere Nowhere NYC. This included a Saturday night release party with Afro B performing live to a packed room. Furthermore, it was followed by a Sunday Cenote Project daytime rooftop session that carried the same energy across the weekend. Moreover, the excitement surrounding these events reflects Lohrasp Kansara and Joanna’s influence on fans and the Afro House community.
Why “Joanna” Matters Right Now
Lohrasp Kansara’s “Joanna” arrives at a moment when the line between Afrobeats and Afro House continues to blur. This trend is evident among both mainstream and underground audiences. What makes this release different is the full involvement of the original artist. That participation gives the track a level of cultural authenticity that a standard remix process could never achieve. It takes a song already embedded in the cultural memory of millions and gives it a new home on the dance floor. At the same time, it preserves the qualities that made the original resonate. For anyone tracking the continued rise of Afro House as a global genre, this release deserves close attention. Notably, the collaboration between Lohrasp Kansara and Joanna reinforces their influence on the direction of Afro House.
