Deniz Koyu returns to Protocol with the breezy, heartfelt anthem “Next To You,” his newest single since the release of “Destiny” in collaboration with Nicky Romero. “Next To You” sees Koyu adopting a groovy, upbeat sound with sincere vocals; the progressive melodies combined with lyrics like “if you were an ocean I’d dive right in” conjure memories of balmy summer nights with someone special, while the groovy drop lends a carefree vibe perfect for easy listening. “Next To You” is the first of a two-part series, both of which tell a story in the same style of music, accompanied by art and video. When this Deniz puts out new sounds, the world stops and listens – and we are confident there are more fresh tracks coming from him very soon!
Deniz Koyu is a dance music veteran who has helped to shape the landscape of progressive and electro house music as it is today with iconic club hits such as “Tung!“, “Bong” and many more. His recent work under KO:YU has included high-profile remixes of Alesso and Anitta‘s “Is That For Me” and The Chainsmokers‘ “Young.” He has evolved with the constantly changing landscape of electronic music, evidenced by his foray into indie-pop and house fusion with “Paradise” and the uplifting vocal house of “Lost Soul.” It follows Koyu‘s prior releases “GO” on Spinnin’ Records, “Feel It” with Magnificence, and “Destiny” with Nicky Romero on Protocol. It’s always a treat when Deniz returns to the label, so keep an eye out for his next single!
