Dennis Cartier Debuts A Whole New Sound With ‘Don’t Let Go’!

2020 has begun with an unforeseen level of uncertainty. With the world disconnected and socially isolated, it’s easy to fall into feelings of hopelessness. That’s where the Belgian producer and DJ Dennis Cartier comes in. Moving away from his more house approach to music production, Cartier dips his toes into the realm of pop with the hopeful track ‘Don’t Let Go’.

‘Don’t Let Go’ was produced over a 2 year period, beginning when Dennis was driving his car and had an idea for a melody, which he recorded on his phone. He came home and started to play and expand on the tune. Soon, he contacted American singer Bryant Powell. He continued to write the song, providing the vocals and lyrics in the final version. After around 31 different versions, all of which were rejected by various labels. The long battle to complete the song soon came to pass when he realized the first version had the song in the form that it needed to be.

“Take the chances that approach ya. Throw the fear into the breeze. Wrap yourself around my body. Feel your heartbeat close to me, close to me” sings Powell, representing the feeling of the song perfectly- letting go of your inhibitions. Throwing caution to the wind and just enjoying the moment and the simple times with the ones you love. The uplifting are surrounded by tropical beats and guitar, giving the song a relaxing vibe, creating a tropical pop sound reminiscent of Jonas Blue’s ‘Perfect Strangers’. The simple, laid back pop piano and the Latin inspired rhythm and guitar parts give the song a unique twist, never getting old after every listen.
