Released 6 Years Ago: Dillon Francis & Martin Garrix – Set Me Free

Two monumental figures within the electronic music industry, Dillon Francis and Martin Garrix couldn’t have better hit the mark on their collaboration ‘Set Me Free’, bringing together the best of both worlds. Back in 2014, when the single was released, both artists were enjoying stellar success; Dillon Francis was gearing up for the release of his massive debut album ‘Money Sucks, Friends Rule’, while Martin Garrix was still riding high off the success of hits such as ‘Gold Skies’ and ‘Tremor’. Included on Dillon Francis’ debut album, ‘Set Me Free’ was a smash dance hit that would be played on shows and festivals for the years to come. Combining quirky melodies and breaks by Dillon Francis and gritty basslines by Martin Garrix, this is a collaboration that will go down in history.

Martin Garrix has risen to global stardom in pop as well as electronic circles – and yet he’s far from being done. Dance music’s freshest talent has headlined festivals around the globe, founded a label and mentored other artists and won the #1 spot in DJ Mag’s Top 100 three times in a row. His passion, ambition, drive and maturity remain unmatched in the world. ‘Animals’, released June 2013 was a breakout success and a game-changer for the music industry. Reaching #1 in the UK and many other territories, it proved that a hard-hitting, dance floor-oriented track could reach pop status, ultimately reaching over a billion streams across several platforms.

By 2017, platinum-selling DJ and producer, host, and creator of TBS Digital’s One Deeper Talks, actor, and all-around nice guy Dillon Francis solidified himself as a modern-day renaissance man. Averaging over 4.6 million monthly Spotify streams, he achieved a string of smashes, including ‘Anywhere’, ‘Candy’, ‘Coming Over’ with Kygo, and ‘Get Low’ with DJ Snake.
