Discolure Shares New Single And Video ‘Dopuha (Mali Mali)’ ft. Fatoumata Diawara!

In keeping with their tradition of enlisting international collaborators, Disclosure once again team up with Fatoumata Diawara on their new single, “Douha (Mali Mali).Brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence first teased the songduring their April Boiler Room session, live from isolation, and fans have been asking for it ever since. A sonic exploration of impressive proportions, “Douha (Mali Mali)” transports listeners from the dancefloor of collective memory, over continents to distant lands, to languish in ecstatic escape from the dire straits around us. Diawara, whofeatured on the duo’s GRAMMY-nominated 2018 single, “Ultimatum,” sings in celebration of her birthplace and urges all Malians to be proud of their country. Download / stream HERE.

Disclosure have long championed the ethos of unity and the power of rallying a global community through dance music and their new album, ENERGY, alongside this new flagship single, strives to do just that. The breathtaking video, directed by Mahaneela, encapsulates this concept in full. View HERE.

Mahaneela said, “Right now, all over the world, we’re going through an incredibly strange time. I wanted to make something that was visually beautiful, but also felt symbolic of what we’re all going through. People feel more isolated than ever and I wanted to create something joyful that really shows the power music and movement has and the connectivity it brings.”

Shooting any video during a global pandemic is challenging, but the international effort employed here has delivered amazing results. Filming Fatoumata plus a series of different dancers – all moving together to the song, all over the world – was no mean feat. The video was shot in three countries using nine different locations with three separate local film crews, all adhering to safety guidelines. Together, they captured remarkable rural and cityscapes in Como, Italy, Johannesburg, South Africa and New York.

Disclosure launched ENERGY, their third album, with the carnival-infused title track featuring Eric Thomas in May and followed up with another bold statement of intent in June: “My High” ft. Portland’s Aminé and Northampton’s slowthai going head to head on an insanely exciting hip-house rampage. Fans who pre-order the album digitally will instantly receive “Douha (Mali Mali)” plus “My High” and the title track. Set for August 28 release, ENERGY will also be available on vinyl, CD and cassette. Pre-order HERE. This year marks 10 years since Disclosure debuted with the single “Offline Dexterity.” In that decade, Guy and Howard Lawrence, who are still in their 20s, have released two albums – Settle (2013) and Caracal (2015) – clocked up 5.1 billion streams and 4.8 million album sales, received five GRAMMY nominations, sold 500,000 tickets to their headline shows and topped festival bills all over the world. Both of their full-length albums topped the U.K. Official Albums chart and received GRAMMY nominations for Best Dance/Electronic Album. Settle was named the No. 1 dance album of the decade by Billboard. A pair of EPs – Moonlight and Ecstasy – followed.
