Though efforts are being made to strike a new and more honest balance, women are still underrepresented in the music industry. But as someone who realizes that change begins with yourself, Duvall is stepping up to make a difference, using his platform to launch an all-female remix package of his recent summer anthem ‘Every Song’ (feat. bshp).
Graced with the lauded studio capabilities of British DJ, producer, and vocalist lau.ra, emerging star AVIAN GRAYS, London-born House heroine Saffron Stone and Berlin’s very own CINTHIE, the remix pack of Duvall and bshp’s relatable love song puts these exceptional talents into the spotlight on merit. A quartet of diverse, yet equally dance-floor-ready renditions, this release is sure to take the scene by storm in fourfold.
“Remixes write themselves when the melodies are this insanely catchy”, lau.ra says. “I brought my bassy wobble flavor to the table with a nod to UK Garage. The original is so infectious I wanted to keep up that same energy but with a side of shuffle. I can’t wait to hear this one on a club system.”
“‘Every Song’ (feat. bshp) is such a catchy track and Duvall is so talented that my team and I loved the idea of doing a remix”, AVIAN GRAYS explains. “It turned out to be an energetic one! Can’t wait to play it in my DJ sets and I hope you love it just as much!”
“When Duvall asked me to remix ‘Every Song’, I was excited to get involved as I loved his idea of using all female producers”, Saffron Stone adds. “I feel very proud to be a part of this project and to be involved with other talented women on the scene. As soon as I heard bshp’s vibey, emotive vocals, I knew the direction I wanted to take my remix in. I heard in my head how I wanted it to sound, so I got to work straight away while I was in Spain, surrounded by beautiful picturesque views that inspired me a lot during the writing process. Big views, big feels. The rolling bassline works nicely with the atmospheric vocals, and by the time I made the synths, all the core elements just fell into place. My spin has that big, club room feel that’s going to go off. I can’t wait for everyone to hear this on the dance floor!’
“It was so nice to be working on something from Duvall again after remixing Disciples last year”, CINTHIE shares. “For this remix, I stuck to classic house vibes, keeping the soulful essence of the original while bringing in bright piano melodies, a gritty bass line and swinging 909 drums alongside snippets of bshp’s vocal lines.”
