One of New York’s favourite electronic music festivals, Electric Zoo, made its 13th appearance in Randall’s Island last year, unfortunately with some problems that caused the first day of the event to be cancelled, a 2-hour delay to Saturday’s initial kick off time, endless queue lines and stopped further entry on the third day due to reaching full capacity.
Today, nine months later after the incidents, Electric Zoo has finally announced that all eligible ticket holders will be contacted directly via email and can expect refunds by July 19th. According to the organisers, you will have money back if:
2. September 3rd, 2023, you had a single or multi day admission ticket and were not able to enter the festival, as well as if you have not previously received a face-value refund.
In the announcement made by the festival’s official account, the organisers state that they know they have let their fans down and the goal of the 2023 edition was to bring them an incredible experience that included new stage concepts and a new, upgraded production for the event.
It is worth mentioning that the first day of the festival has been cancelled just 3 hours before open gates due to the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation refusing to grant permits, even though festival organisers claimed the issue was caused by global supply chain disruptions. The mainstage has remained unfinished for the rest of the festival, failing the organiser’s plans and desires for the 2023 edition.
