Eli Brown Collides With Talk Show For The Brooding Punk Inspired Techno Of ‘Trouble!

Eli Brown’s ‘Killer’ placed the Bristol producer firmly on the global electronic music map. ‘Killer’ marked a new chapter in a career lauded by the likes of Carl Cox, Green Velvet, Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, The Blessed Madonna, and more. Continuing his work with Calvin Harris as part of his Love Regenerator project, Green Velvet, Joe Goddard, and other premiere dance producers, Eli Brown’s reputation is largely based within the subversive. Bringing dark, ethereal tones to the fore within his own work, Brown’s alternative approach to production draws dance music’s elite into his darkly hued atmospheres, leading them into uncharted territory. Today, however, Eli Brown invites a rising act creating a truly formidable presence; South London punks Talk Show on new track ‘Trouble’, out now via Astralwerks.

Relentless from its opening, ‘Trouble’ is a high octane cut of punk-inspired techno complete with propulsive synths, an unceasing percussive line, and a deadpan vocal line courtesy of Talk Show vocalist Harrison Swann. Rather than leaning into each other’s stylistic traits, both acts ramp up the intensity; with Eli Brown injecting an acid-infused potency while Swann snarls vengeful declarations over the track’s foreboding atmospheres. Somehow both euphoric and pummeling, the track represents a perfect collision of cultures from an inherently uncompromising artist bringing one of the most impactful new acts in the UK into his world.

An explosive example of bringing two unstoppable forces in their own worlds together, ‘Trouble’ is the result of fruitful experimentation of collaboration, one that will yield further offerings in the near future.
