gardenstate present their latest single, ‘Alma’, which sees the pair drop the next single from forthcoming album Inspirations and builds the anticipation for the pair’s first full-length release on Anjunabeats.
A growling bassline signals the tracks deep intentions from the start, full of movement and filters that keep ‘Alma’ dynamic throughout. A glistening arpeggio is another standout element, teasing the melodic structure of the single and providing a strong foundation for the main hook to shine upon its introduction. All the musical elements are underpinned by heavily reverbed vocals, which provide an airy tone and ensure that ‘Alma’ fits with the trademark epic aesthetic that gardenstate are known for.
A melting pot of 90’s trance nostalgia and burning progressive, ‘Alma’ is another masterful production from the Swedish-American duo. As you’d expect from a duo so varied in their sound, they’ve steadily been gaining the attention of the biggest hitters across the electronic music spectrum, including Above & Beyond, Joris Voorn, Oliver Heldens, Ferry Corsten, and Pete Tong.
On ‘Alma’, gardenstate said; “Alma is one of those record ideas that’s been in our minds for a long time. It’s a fusion journey into both the future and past with the lead reminding us what a few layers can do to a song”
As the duo prepare to join Above & Beyond for two sold-out Red Rocks shows 21st and 22nd October and excitement builds towards the release of their debut album, ‘Alma’ is the next installment in the blossoming gardenstate story.
