Born in Bielefeld, Germany, Jan-Philipp Preuß, also known as Jay Pepe discovered his passion for EDM & DJing at the age of 16 years old. He played his first club gig in one of the most recommended clubs in west-Germany, Cafe Europa and just a short few years later he became a resident in this venue. After experiencing the life of DJing, he turned to producing and seen success with releases on major labels in his home country.
After a short break on releasing tracks, He returned in 2019 with ‘Dirty Drop’ and ‘Stranger’ (both released on WePlay Music) and ‘Monsta’ (released on 120dBRecords). Since then, Jay Pepe has not slowed down, promising to release a lot of new music within the coming months. Often regarded as one of the brightest up and coming talents from Germany, Jay Pepe opens up his 2020 calendar year with a tech-house gem.
‘T-Babe’ kicks off with simple yet effective drum work that sets the tone for a very tech-heavy styled production. It doesn’t take too long before Jay Pepe adds some anticipation to the drop with climatic risers towards the drop. The ever-present vocal sample adds a lovely top layer to this production.
