Hailing from New Zealand, a drum & bass stronghold, Jaycen A’mour has been making his own way on the EDM landscape. Pushing an electro/bass house sound that has garnered the attention of Jauz, Knife Party, Ghastly, Brohug, Zeds Dead, Tiësto, and more. Jaycen‘s ‘Tic Tok’ hit #1 on his native New Zealand’s house charts, amassing over 2 million streams since its release last year. But like many, he struggled for inspiration as the effects of a worldwide pandemic eroded his creative flow. ‘Street Mantra’ with Downlowd was the first and only 2021 release until now but became Jaycen‘s first #1 on Beatport, spending 2 weeks on top of the electro house top 100, simultaneously peaking at #19 on Beatport‘s overall top 100.
For his second outing of 2021, Jaycen A’mour teams up with the talented Z A K. The Miami-based artist has collaborated with Max Vangeli, Donkong, Subshift, and Danny Time in his relatively short career. The result of these two artists coming together is ‘EOTY’ and it does not disappoint. A killer single that makes us ask why they’ve not teamed up sooner, this track’s dark ominous tone reflects on the state of the world at the time of its creation yet still feels right at home on the dancefloor.
