Julian Jordan Talks “Right Nahh,” STMPD RCRDS 10-Year Tour, and Space Plus Bangkok During Songkran

During the STMPD RCRDS 10-Year Anniversary Tour stop in Bangkok, we spoke with Julian Jordan at Space Plus Bangkok, where the night also marked the club’s reopening during Songkran, placing the show within a wider moment for the local circuit. The tour itself reflects ten years of STMPD RCRDS since its launch in 2016 under Martin Garrix, with a roster that has remained visible across major festivals such as Tomorrowland and Ultra Music Festival while still maintaining a strong presence in clubs. Julian Jordan has been part of that lineup for years, first gaining wider attention through early collaborations like BFAM and continuing with releases such as Oldskool alongside Will Sparks, alongside a steady run of solo tracks that move between vocal releases and records aimed for club play. In conversation, he spoke about how his latest track Right Nahh began as an instrumental idea before the vocal was recorded months later, how his approach in the studio now follows his own listening habits as they shift over time, and how that thinking carries into his sets, where reading the crowd remains central, especially in a club setting where the response on the floor directly influences how the set develops.

So the first question I want to start with is your latest track, “Right Nahh.” What was your creative process like when you made it and what part of the track came to you first?

“It’s funny. It’s an older track that I made, I think about a year ago. The instrumental idea was already there, but I wanted to make something that sits between a vocal track and something you can play in a club. I recorded the vocal a few months ago and still had the project, so I decided to put the vocal on it and see what happens. That’s how ‘Right Nahh’ came together. It was basically two projects merged into one.”

Over the past year, your production process has likely changed with trends and everything. What would you say changes the most when you’re working on a track?

“I don’t really try to follow trends. I just follow what I like. My process doesn’t change much, but my taste in music does. When I hear something being used a lot, I feel like doing something different to keep myself challenged. As a producer, you always have to challenge yourself and make something that surprises both you and the crowd. When I’m in the studio, I think, ‘If I’m standing in the crowd right now, what would I want to hear and what would I go crazy to?’ That’s what I try to make.”

Now we are here at Space Plus Bangkok for the STMPD RCRDS 10-Year Anniversary Tour. Does being here on this occasion change how you approach planning your set?

“I used to be really into planning my sets, but I changed that. Big festivals are different because you’re playing for a bigger picture, but in clubs you have to read the crowd. For club shows, I don’t prepare that much. I have tracks ready, but I like to go with the flow. That’s when I have the most fun, when I can read the crowd and build a connection. That’s the art of DJing for me. If I prepare too much, I feel like it would ruin my set.”

You’ve been part of STMPD RCRDS for a long time now. How does it feel to be here in Thailand for the anniversary tour, especially with Space Plus Bangkok reopening during Songkran?

“I love it. I feel super blessed to be here. I was here a few years ago and haven’t seen the club yet after the renovation, but I’ve heard about it. I’m excited to see it and to be here again. It’s always special to be part of moments like this and to build new memories.”

For Julian Jordan, this return to Space Plus Bangkok sits between familiarity and change, coming after previous shows in the city but now within a different version of the venue following its reopening. That timing also places the night within the wider context of the STMPD RCRDS 10-Year Anniversary Tour, where artists who have been part of the label over time return during a milestone year, linking individual sets to a longer timeline that goes beyond a single show.

As someone who has remained closely connected to STMPD RCRDS, his presence in Bangkok reflects that ongoing role within the label, especially as it moves into its next phase after ten years. Rather than focusing only on past releases or earlier collaborations, this moment points forward, where his recent output and continued touring sit alongside a label that continues to expand its reach across both clubs and festivals. In that sense, the night at Space Plus Bangkok does not just mark a return to the city, but also positions him within what comes next for STMPD, where artists tied to its core identity continue to carry that direction into new releases and future shows.

Music On Festival 2026 Cancelled Just Hours Before Opening

A packed daytime crowd inside the Music On Festival tent at Meerpark Amsterdam, with a DJ performing at the decks in the foreground, thousands of attendees filling the space under a clear roof canopy allowing blue sky and sunlight to filter through, with Music On branding flags visible on either side of the stage.

Music On Festival 2026 has been cancelled after the Municipality of Amsterdam revoked the event’s permit hours before it was due to open its doors.

Music On Festival 2026 has been cancelled just hours before it was due to open its doors, after the Municipality of Amsterdam revoked the event’s permit this morning. The festival, scheduled to take place across 9 and 10 May at Meerpark Amsterdam in partnership with Loveland, will no longer go ahead. Thousands of ticket holders who had already made travel plans to attend are now being urged not to travel to the festival grounds, as entry will not be permitted.

The announcement came via an official statement shared by the Music On team on social media, who described the news as “devastating.” The organizers confirmed they had no prior warning, stating they only received the information themselves earlier today and were given no choice but to cancel. The statement did not specify the reason the Municipality of Amsterdam chose to revoke the permit, and the full details behind the decision remain unclear at the time of writing.

Music On is the festival arm of Marco Carola‘s long-running Music On brand, which has become one of the most respected names in techno and house music. Having previously held its Amsterdam edition in association with Loveland — one of the city’s most established electronic music promoters — the festival had built a loyal following among fans of underground dance music across Europe and beyond.

The cancellation comes as a significant blow, not only to attendees who had invested in travel and accommodation, but to the wider electronic music community in Amsterdam. The city has faced growing scrutiny around event permits in recent years, and last-minute revocations of this kind raise serious questions about the relationship between large-scale music events and local authorities.

The Music On team has promised to update ticket holders as soon as possible regarding next steps, including information on refunds and any further developments. No reason has yet been given by either the organizers or the Municipality of Amsterdam for the permit revocation. EDMHouseNetwork will continue to follow this story as more details emerge.

STBAN teams up with Billy Ronca for hot Latin number ‘YAMEKITE’

STBAN and Billy Ronca release ‘Yamekite’ via FLAMENCA Records / Toolroom Records, a rolling Latin electronica track built for Ibiza terraces and club dancefloors.

Fresh from the success of his Javi Torres and Alba Dreid collab ‘Habibi’, FLAMENCA Records boss STBAN continues to build the hype with latest single ‘Yamekite’, out today via distributor Toolroom Records.

This time out, the label head shares the stage with reggaeton and Latin rap star Billy Ronca. Born in Brazil, raised across Europe and now based in the heart of Puerto Rico working with reggaeton icons Baby Rasta y Gringo, Ronca has steadily built his reputation as a singer and writer to watch out for. Teaming up with STBAN in the studio, the result is another hit in the growing FLAMENCA catalogue.

“This song is about self-love and awareness,” Ronca explained. “Sometimes we’re the ones who put people on pedestals they never deserved, and when that happens, it’s up to us to bring them back down. It’s a reminder to protect your energy, choose good vibes, and not waste time on people or situations that don’t add value to your life. Life is short, everything is temporary, and we shouldn’t get stuck in negativity.

“The line “era pa’ siempre que me tuviste” reflects a contradiction that tells a deeper story — two people living the same relationship with completely different intentions. For one, it felt like forever; for the other, it was just a moment.

“Even though the lyrics are simple, the message goes deeper: it’s about self-respect, emotional clarity, and knowing when to let go.”

Ronca’s sun drenched vocals and fluid rap are a perfect foil for STBAN’s steadily building production. Gentle guitars strum across rolling percussion, Latin brass shimmering and sizzling in the background as STBAN gradually turns the energy up. It’s a gorgeous slice of hot Latin electronica perfectly timed for the opening of the European summer season.

We’ve just been in Ibiza and the reaction to the track was amazing,” the FLAMENCA Records label boss said. “It’s the perfect track to get the terrace session going or dial the heat up on the club dance floor. Another great addition to our FLAMENCA Records discography.”

STBAN & Billy Ronca ‘Yamekite’ is released May 8th on FLAMENCA Records via Toolroom Records.
