Koven show no signs of slowing following several high-profile festival appearances in recent weeks, including Rampage in Belgium, EDC in Las Vegas, and the return of Glastonbury, as they continue their journey on Monstercat with the brand new single, “All We Needed“. With the success of “Lions” and “Take it Away” sitting in its backdrop, the first two deliveries from their forthcoming ‘Higher Ground (Part 1)’ EP, “All We Needed” raises the bar once again, just weeks before the release of their next groundbreaking body of work.
For the first time in its nearly 50-year history, leading synthetic motor oil brand Mobil 1 is celebrating the natural connection between driving and music. In partnership with Monstercat, the recordKoven calls home, Mobil 1 has commissioned the duo to be the face of their debut music campaign, collaborating with the car-powered video game, Rocket League. As seen in the epic music video, together they’ll bring “All We Needed” to music, driving, and gaming fans alike. In tandem with Rocket League’s World Championship next month, which Mobil 1 has been a sponsor for since 2018, “All We Needed” will enter the in-game radio station and become available as a free Player Anthem globally.
Koven share, “‘All We Needed’ is about enjoying and appreciating the simplest things in life. There is so much beauty in a simple moment that we often pass by without noticing. At the time it doesn’t feel like anything, but you will nostalgically look back on it with a full heart and realize it’s moments like that that carry meaning. Something as simple as watching TV with the person you love and holding their hand, or driving on an open road with your friends on a sunny day, not really going anywhere, but sometimes that’s all you need.“
“All We Needed” illuminates new strengths in Koven’s repertoire, both emotive and powerful like the previous singles on ‘Higher Ground (Part 1),’ yet simultaneously relaxed and transportive in its shimmering instrumentals. Their signature kinetic energy flows through every breakdown, pushed forward by Katie’s distinct vocal highs and meaningful lyricism. It’s a record that works just as well on a late-night drive as it does on festival stages and club spaces – lending itself to one of Koven’s most successful run of tour dates since the start of their career. From Ibiza to Shambhala, Koven have made their presence felt throughout the dance music space. Crossing genre constraints and increasing momentum with each new offering, they’ve become a globally-recognized name.
