Audax will thrill you once again with a mesmerizing release. The newest track, entitled ‘Be With You’, features the voice of one of House Music’s most iconic singers, Shawnee Taylor. To make it even more special, this production is being released by the label of none other than, Laidback Luke, Mixmash Records. Pedro, André, and João, in recent times, have been calling attention for the constant sound evolution of Audax, who recently also released a track on EDX’s Swiss label.
“We have a partnership with Shawnee Taylor since 2017, when we released ‘Hey You’ on Tiger Records. It was an important song for us, within the piano house style, being our first collaboration with an international artist. The release of this track put pressure and responsibility on us at the time, mainly for Shawnee’ caliber. But, for this production now, we worked smoothly, everything flowed much more naturally and we are really ecstatic with the final result”, reveals Pedro.
The choice of House Music muse, Shawnee Taylor, leaves no doubt about the position of the three brothers, who evolved from rock to dance with class and are now ready for success. The singer of ‘Live Your Life’, an anthem of the dancefloors for more than a decade by the star Erick Morillo, dazzles our ears with her sunset by the sea voice.
“We did a concert together with Shawnee in São Paulo, in 2019, and being able to play ‘Live Your Life’ with her was indescribable and, of course, ‘Hey You’. At that time, we already had an initial version of ‘Be With You’, which we even played there, and some fans close to our whatsapp group were present and even sang the track even before it was released. All of this was essential for us to notice some things that we would like to change on the track, reaching now what we consider to be perfect”, adds João.
“The production process of ‘Be With You’ with Shawnee has made us to evolve. We have been producing this song for 2 years with her and now, we are more confident to bring our sound to something different. We are more comfortable with a progressive musicality, finding elements compatible with her voice within the timbres. It was quite natural. Shawnee is a very nice person, open to new ideas. Our synergy went well and opened up countless possibilities”, explains André.
After more than 5 different drop versions, Audax tested several elements until reaching a common denominator that would please the three brothers and the singer. The release by Mixmash Records is unprecedented for the Brazilian trio, as well as the support of Laidback Luke, who played it on his online set.
“Laidback Luke spoke the name of our project during his podcast, talking about the track and Brazil. We are very proud to be able to be living this now. We have always respected him as an artist and as a person. In fact, we were very sad when the pandemic started and canceled his show at Laroc Club”, add Pedro, André and João.
With several major supports in 2020, such as Above & Beyond, Ferry Corsten, and Lost Frequencies, the trio also presents a very audacious music video for this track. The new video clip is a tribute to the clubber culture with a professional dancer interpreting body movements that show the subjectivity of the music. “We wanted something different, and even in the midst of the pandemic, we managed to make an interesting video clip for this release”, said Audax
Adding more than 260 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify and, after the recent releases of ‘Vibe‘ and ‘Holy Sinner’, the Audax trio presents a super production with the vocals of one of the House muses of the world, Shawnee Taylor.
